Tanzenite walked into the base and was almost struck blind the magnificent Gem that stood before them. Jasper immediately saluted. Tanzenite was confused till she saw the salute.
She looked at the being before them again and felt so small.
Pink Diamond was standing in front of them.
"My Diamond." Jasper said. Pink Diamond smiled and signaled her to be at ease.
"Hello, you two." She looked down at both of them. Tanzenite didn't know how to react, but her body preformed a perfect curtsy without her telling it to, so that must have been right.
"What are you doing here?" Jasper said with all of the elegance she could muster. Pink Diamond let out a small chuckle and looked passed her into the world outside the base.
"I love this planet, it's so precious to me." She paused and looked back to Jasper.
"I am here to check on the progress of the colony, and to ask you two a favor."
Jasper looked almost excited.
"A favor!? Uh, My Diamond?" She bowed her head down again.
"Hn, yes, I can see you've done an excellent job with the colony thus far..." She paused and shifted her eyes to Tanzenite for a moment and then back to Jasper.
"And I would like you to be my personal guard back on Homeworld."
Tanzenite could have sworn Jasper almost fainted.
"But, uh... My Diamond..." Tanzenite saluted. "Shouldn't we stay here, what if we're needed?"
"Then I'll send you back if you're needed, but right now, dear Tanzenite, I need you more." Tanzenite felt worry and fear begin to naw at the inside of her chest.
"Yes! Of course we'd love to! I will be you're perfect defender, My Diamond." Jasper saluted once more. Tanzenite saw Pink Dimond smile, only this time it wasn't a comforting one.

Before she knew it they were boarding a ship to Homeworld. One last look she thought, and turned around just as the door was closing. Her last image was of a small base on a small and insignificant planet, now fading in the distance. Her home. She touched the window and watched it blink into a tiny star, which also, eventually faded. Pain struck her heart like a string, goodbye, her thoughts crushed into themselves and she felt her eyes grow dark. Half lidded, blank.
I want... to go home
