Tanzenite and Jasper reached a thick forest where they spotted fresh tracks in the snow. Jasper finally set Tanzenite down and began investigating the area. Tanzenite wandered to see what was nearby. She wouldn't want Jasper getting involved with humans, what a mess that would turn into.

"Tanzenite!?" Jasper said sounding worried. Tanzenite whittled around and was met with a hug from Jasper.
"Stay by me, okay?" Tanzenite gave her an understanding smile and gave her a hug.
"No problem, I was just checking around, now let's follow the footprints." Jasper smiled confidently again and turned towards the trail.
"Okay!"

Meanwhile, unknown to Jasper and Tanzenite; Steven, Connie and Pearl warped to the pad in the Great North.
"Connie's first mission!" Steven cheered quietly to himself.
"Alright you two, now who knows what the mission is today." Pearl said clapping her hands to get their attention.
"Garnet sensed some Gem activity here and we are here to find it, bubble it, and send it to the temple." Connie said confidently.
"Very good Connie." Pearl praised.

Just out of site, unknown to the three of them, Tanzenite had caught their presence on the wind and went to check it out while Jasper was distracted.

She moved to a bank and peered from behind the trees. The tree of them had moved put of her site. She looked back at Jasper who had caught the trail of one of the large Gem monsters and ran off. Tanzenite sighed and hoped she could steer Jasper away from Steven and the others.

As she trailed along, Tanzenite could hear the murmurs of their conversation. It seemed like they were tracking the corrupted gems as well. Tanzenite looked over and saw that Jasper was gone. She stood up quickly and located her footprints and followed them.
They headed away from the woods and down the hill a bit. She had to find her before Steven or Connie did.

Once at the bottom Tanzenite saw Jasper corner by two massive Corrupted Gems. Quickly she slid down the hillside and leaped into the air. As this happened the rust colored Gem reared and stood on its hind legs and let out a mighty roar. Tanzenite twirled I'm the air and positioned herself like a chisel and struck the monster's back. The monster hit the show face first. Jasper gave a wild grin and grabbed it by the front leg and twisted it onto its back. The ground shook, Jasper sneered and walked over to the beast's gem and reached for it. The monster howled and roared and took a swipe at her, Tanzenite pushed her back as it did this and got a long gouge up her back. She shouted, but shook it off quickly. While this happened the monster's ran away.
"I don't think so!" Jasper said running after the blue and pink spotted gem. She quickly turned and pointed to the rusty colored one and shouted, "you go after that one we'll meet back here!" Tanzenite nodded and sprinted off after the light brown gem monster.

As she ran she kept her eyes focused but her ears and nose open to what was around her. She didn't want to run into Steven or Pearl. Eventually, she caught up with the monster and drove in into a corner of some trees. It looked around frantically for a way out, a way to escape. Tanzenite felt sadness for it, pity, there was probably a concious Gem inside it somewhere. She sighed and reached out. The monster swiped it's claws but they did nothing to stop her from pursuing further. She grabbed ahold of the gem on its chest and pulled gently. Poof! An explosions of clouds surrounded her as the form of the gem disappeared. She held the gem gingerly in her hand and smiled, bubbled it and sent it to where they had been storing the rest.
Suddenly, she heard a twig snap. She looked around and hid herself just as Pearl appeared from behind a thick section of trees. She landed and looked around perplexed, stabbed her spear into the ground and looked around with her index finger pursed on her upper lip. Tanzenite watched as she investigate the area. Tanzenite looked down and saw she had footprints leading right to her. She frowned at her idocy and started to climb the tree as slowly as possible. Pearl began following the footprints over to her. Tanzenite had just cleared Pearl's view as she looked over to the tree she was hiding in. Pearl looked around, then shrugged and pulled out a walkie talkie.
"Steven, Connie? How are things going over there? Remember as human you need to eat." She said into the speaker.
"Were fine, no sign of the monster ma'am!" Connie replied excitedly.
"I'm not finding anything over here either, I'll head towards your position." Pearl replied equally excited sounding.
Tanzenite smiled at Pearl. She was happy she had a pupil who looked up to her.
Pearl replaced the walkie talkie and began walking back from where she came. Once out of site, Tanzenite climbed down the tree and started to follow Jasper's, now fading, footprints.

After a while she lost the footprints and started having to use her other senses to find her.

It took a while, but eventually she started to hear the sound of a gem monster roaring loudly in the distance. She smiled and started to walk faster towards them. When she heard a little voice shout.
"Connie!"
Tanzenite froze where she stood and waited, and listened.
She heard shouting back and forth, then only the sounds of the blue monster.
Then suddenly she heard Connie.
"Pearl we found the Monster!"
"What!? I'll be there as soon as I can!"
THUD! Tanzenite gasped and took a few steps forward.
Jasper was there and she didn't want her to hurt Steven or Connie.
She hurried forward and saw the silhouette of Jasper beating the life out if the monster. She saw her reach down and yank the Gem off of its chest. She could make out everyone's faces now and squinted to see clearer.
There was a long pause then she heard Jasper chuckle.
"Hey Rose look what I got." There was a flash, from what Tanzenite couldn't see. She slowly started to see Jasper arriving out of the fog, she was chuckling to herself.

Once Jasper was in front of her she grabbed the gem out of her hands and bubbled it, and sent it on. Jasper smiled at her and put her hand gently on her face.
"Let's get out of here."
Tanzenite agreed, and with one look back to where she knew they were, they left the area to return to the Beta Kindergarten.
