As Tanzenite continued to read the reports, the more interested Steven got into just what she was reading. He not so stealthily approached Tanzenite from behind and arched his back so he could see over her shoulder. He was just about to be able to see when amethyst grabbed him and set him back next to her and Peridot.
"Aaaw, come on Amethyst, I just wanna know more about her." He whined.
"Listen dude, if I've learned anything about her, it's that she's not really an open person, she'll tell you all about herself in time." Steven nodded, but was still pouting about it. Peridot also looked like she wanted to know more. She stood up and winked at Steven and started creeping up to Tanzenite. She held out her hand and was about to tap her on the shoulder when she suddenly spoke.
"No..." Tanzenite said. Peridot jumped away quickly and ran next to Steven.
"N-no?" She asked with a broken smile.
"This..... this... is a lie... I know this isn't true." Amethyst stood up and went by her.
"What's up?" Tanzenite shut down the computer and back away aggressively with her arms crossed.
"What did you read?" Peridot asked. Amethyst furrowed her brows and out a hand on her arm.
"Let's head back, I'm sure Pearl will want to know what you've found." Tanzenite wiped her eyes and nodded.
"Yeah."
"Did you remember everything?" Steven said. Tanzenite nodded and gave a half hearted smile.
"I guess... let's go, it's getting late." They all agreed to that and teleported back to the barn, where Tanzenite was the first to leave the stream. She walked out and suddenly looked towards the barn with a terrible expression.
"Hey Steven, could you introduce me to Lapis." It sounded more like a command than a request. Steven looked at the barn and to Tanzenite.
"Only if you calm down, Lapis has been through enough, I don't want you hurting her." He said, sounding serious. The look of anger in her eyes faded and was replaced with her realization. She dropped one arm and held onto it with the other.
"Right... sorry, but please... I have to ask her something, it's important." Steven nidded and grabbed her hand. Peridot and Amethyst followed. What Peridot saw just before they started walking again was that Amethyst had drawn out her whip and was looking focused, and scared.

"Lapis... Lapis?" Steven called looking around.
"Steven!" Came a sweet voice from above them.
"I'm glad you came back, who's this?" She said meeting Tanzenite's gaze.
"I was hoping you heard earlier..." He shrugged.
"This is Tanzenite, and she uh... has a question for you." He backed away from the two of them.  Amethyst had her weapon at the ready and Lapis seemed to also be put immediately on edge.
"What do you want?" Lapis asked sounding annoyed.
"Where is she?" Tanzenite said with quiet malice behind her words. Lapis grit her teeth.
"Who?"
"You know who. Don't be stupid Lazuli." Her words became harder and harder. Lapis was throwing her calm demeanor to the wind.
"You think I know where she is?" Steven was looking between the two, hoping that what he was thinking was wrong.
"You kept her prisoner for months according to Steven, you would know what happened to her!" Tanzenite dissipated her gloves and balled her hands into fists. Lapis raided her hand Tanzenite could hear the pool of water shifting and raising behind her.
"Just tell me what you remember." She said, not dropping her tough act.
"I don't want to talk about it! I'm done! Why do you even care so much! She's aweful!" Lapis said intimidated by her lack of backing down.
"Because, I was hers, because only she knows the truth, because she can tell me if my memories aren't lying to me!" Steven grit his teeth and ran in between them. Amethyst and Peridot reached for him but he was too fast, they hurried after him.
"I was saposed to protect her, follow her, believe in everything she said no matter what!" Tanzenite lifted her hand and threw a punch that was blocked by ice. The ice shattered instantly. Lapis gasped and was thrown back by the blow. Tanzenite walked over to her and gloved one arm. She balled her fist again and was preparing another hit.
"It was you." Lapis said, covering her eyes like the light was hurting them. Tanzenite stopped.
"What?" She said still sounding angry.
"Your the one she kept calling! You're the reason she took control over me!" Lapis stood up and punched Tanzenite with another fist of water she had been readying behind everyone. Tanzenite flew through the air and landed hard and covered in water. She stood up quickly and took a deep breath. Steven ran between them.
"Stooooop!" Both Tanzenite and Lapis stopped and looked at him.
"What is going on here!?" He exclaimed worriedly.
Tanzenite looked at Lapis, who looked back at her.
"Steven I..." Tanzenite started.
"I'm sorry." Lapis intergected. Tanzenite looked up.
"For what?" She asked.
"I didn't know... how much she ment... to you.. What you ment... to her... I." She covered her eyes. Tanzenite frowned and replaced her gloves on her hands. She walked up to her and placed her hand on her shoulder.
"Don't be sorry, anyone would have done what you did."
"I thought I was helping."
Tanzenite gave a slimy smile as she looked down on Lapis.
"It's fine, I'm just... surprised you held her for that long."
Tanzenite felt a tap in her back. She turned and saw Steven stating at her with big eyes.
"Uh...." she didn't know what to say. Steven took a deep breath.
"YOU KNOW JASPER!?"
An airplane taking off would have been over shadowed by Steven's shout just then. Tanzenite looked between him, Lapis, Peridot, and Amethyst, who held her arm with her hand and looked away sadly.
She looked down at Steven who looked kind if mad.
"THAT'S WHAT YOU'VE BEEN HIDING!?" He continued.
"Steven listen, it's because I was afraid--"
"Afraid of what?" He pressed.
"I was afraid that you wouldn't like me!!" Tanzenite shouted back finally. Steven looked at her angrily.
"I... let me explain..." Steven turned away from her.
"Okay... explain." He said crossing his arms.
