Tanzenite had lost all sense of how much time had passed since they came to Homeworld. The only joy was when her and Jasper had a few moments to themselves.
For the most part they guarded Pink Diamond wherever she went
The only time they had a moment of relief is when she was in meeting with another Diamond.

At one point or another, Jasper would catch her staring out a window, or not fully paying attention. She knew why, but it's not like she could interrupt anything to ask if she was okay.
Jasper was slowly growing more and more worried about her though.
She seemed to becoming distant and unfocused. Her eyes were starting to fall closed. The moments of reprieve were beautiful because she could always pull her back to her normal happy self.
"I worry about you, you know." Jasper said one day while they waited for Pink Diamond to return. Tanzenite looked away from a nearby window to her and smiled.
"I'm sorry."
"No..." There was a pause.
"No? My Jasper?"
Jasper just looked up at her. She stood up and walked over and grabbed her shoulder briskly.
"What's goin on with you?" She was acting very serious. Tanzenite's smile fell and she looked out of the window again.
"It's nothing really, I just... wonder if well ever go back." Jasper looked perplexed.
"Go back?" She asked.
Tanzenite placed her hand on the thick glass.
"You know, to Earth."
There was a long pause. The only sound was the echo of the planet around them.
"Tanzenite-"
"I know." She interrupted.
"It's such an insignificant thing, a little thing, but-"
"It's home."
A pause.
"Yes..." her hand slid down the window. She shook her head and turned around.
"At least I have you though... right?" She smiled up at her Jasper. Who gave her a confident grin in return.
"No matter what."
