"No matter what..." The words echoed in her mind as her conciousness returned. She opened her eyes and blinked a few times. She sat up and stretched, then stood up and walked towards the beaten up door of her run down shack of a house. She reached out and turned the handle, only to be blown back, suddenly, by a large pink something or other. Tanzenite it hit the back wall, landing on her knees. Fear and rage filled her and she grabbed for her weapon from her gem. When she did and the dust from the old wood settled she saw what had broken her door.
It was a young boy. He had black hair and was wearing a pink shirt with blue Jean pants. He made a movement like he was stretching and the pink or around him disappeared.
"Hey! Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl! I'm over here!" He waved. Tanzenite froze in her spot.
Did he not see me? She thought still holding her weapon. The sound if approaching footsteps made her refocus.
"Steven! There you are, are you huuuuuurt?" The tall pale one said, trailing off as her eyes focused on Tanzenite.
"What? What is it?" The boy turned around and saw her crouched and holding her weapon out at the ready.
"Oh. Uh." He looked lost, and brought out his shield after seeing that the other Gems still hadn't lowered their weapons.
"Who are you!?" The pale one asked.
"Are you from homeworld!?" Another one asked. This one was short and purple with a whip for a weapon.
"I-"
"This is not a Gem.controlled planet!" The pale one interrupted.
"I'm not-"
"WELL!?"
"SHUT UP!" Tanzenite gasped. She stood up and deactivated her weapon.
"I'm sorry... I'm Tanzenite. Im.no longer affiliated with Homeworld. I assure you, I'm no threat."
Steven turned to the other Gems who still didn't seem to be putting their weapons down. He looked back to Tanzenite and backed away from her. She scoffed, offended by the gesture.
"I already out away my weapon, and you're still treating me like a threat?"
"You're from Homeworld! And we don't trust you!" Said the pale one again holding out her spear like it was a commanding hand. Tanzenite just stared at her and looked across at the four gems in front of her. She looked down at the strange boy with a gem where usually the umbilical scar is located on humans. She narrowed her eyes at him.
"Rose Quartz?" She said looking confused. Steven looked scared at her as the other Gems moved closer to him.
"But.... I thought.... wait.... no... What is your name?" She pointed down at the boy.
He hesitated.
"S-steven." He said hiding behind his shield more.
Tanzenite nodded.
"Okay.... Steven, could you... tell them to put their weapons away?" The other Gems exchanged looks. Steven looked back at them and nodded. They all deactivated their weapons, but still stood at the ready.
"Alright, Tanzenite, who sent you here?!" Said the pale one again, rather fervishly.
"Yeah! And you better make it quick!" The purple one said with an adorable fire in her throat.
Tanzenite blinked and pointed at each of them.
"Garnet, the perma-fusion of the rebel Ruby and Sapphire. Pearl, defective to homeworld and the gem who owned her. Amethyst...." Tanzenite's eyes dropped. She looked sad. Amethyst looked at her confused.
"I... remember the three of you. Rose... back then. Amethyst, please." Amethyst looked between her and the other Gems. They all looked at her.
"Amethyst do you know her?" Amethyst took one more look between everyone and took a step back.
"I... no.. I don't know you." Tanzenite backed up. She was suddenly filled with confusion and hurt. She clearly remembered their faces but was she remembering wrong.
"No matter what."
No, no, no, no! Not again, not now!
She looked up, she saw they were starting to attack again. She panicked and threw her arms out to the side and a pale light surrounded her. When it was gone, she had vanished.
"Search the area! She can't have gotten too far!" Said the dark one with glasses.
