'WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUCCCCKKKKKKK!!!!'
Rosaline had, as usual, woken up at the ass crack of dawn. Her alarm woke her at 5 am like every morning, earning a sleepy groan and a fumbling hand hoping to hit snooze. And not but 5 minutes later...
'PUT YOUR TEETH TO THE CURB, CAUSE RIGHT NOW I'M GONNA STUMP YOUR FUCKING FACE IN!!'
And, of course, just like every other morning the 'snooze' cycle felt all too short and before she knew it she was pulling herself out of bed.
After brushing her teeth and finding her glasses she stumbled downstairs, not even bothering to be quiet despite the fact her sister was still sleeping. She should be awake too anyways- why make it any easier for her? Her 3 dogs had run to the door to be let out as usual and she'd opened the door for them immediately, closing it behind them and quickly moving to start the first pot of coffee.
Now, of course saying 'first' raises a question in your head. How many pots of coffee do 2 girls need? Well, the answer is a shit ton. Especially when you live on a farm.
Rosaline hadn't bothered to turn on any lights in the kitchen or den, instead preferring the tiny bit of moonlight shining through the windows. It felt like the sun rose earlier and earlier each day- although that was probably true, of course, since the seasons were in fact changing and spring was fast approaching. The muddy fields and constantly dirty horses were a definite sign of that.
She had poured her first cup of coffee from their first pot of coffee as soon as it was done, pouring in just the right amount of creamer to turn the liquid a soft golden color. She then poured a second serving into a dark blue mug- her sisters- and poured in practically as much creamer as their was coffee. While Rosaline loved coffee for its caffeine and taste, her sister hated practically everything about it and only drank it for the caffeine. Creamer was the only thing that made the drink tolerable for the picky girl.
She let her dogs back in on her way into the den, shutting the door quietly as all three of them followed her towards the couch. Despite all 3 of them being fairly large dogs (a Pitbull named Sweeney, Rottweiler named Jericho and American Bulldog-Boxer mix called Demon) they always found a way to all squeeze onto the couch with Rosaline. Of course it usually required one of them to practically sit on top of her but they didn't seen to mind.
Rosaline and her older sister Sirenia co-owned a barn called Covenant Stables. They'd built it (not literally) from the ground up and been running it since they were teens. It was a fairly big barn despite only having 3 staff- the two of them and a live-in worker Jared. They did a good job of keeping everything immaculate and staying on top of it all with minimal issues.
After being abandoned by their parents as 10 and 11-year-olds Rosaline and Sirenia had nothing going for them. Refusing to go to the Police in fear of being separated they had struggled through many years of hiding that their parents left them with nothing but a practically empty house. They'd scraped by stealing bits of food, doing odd jobs for unknowing neighbors, forging their parent's signatures on many an occasion and learning to lie right to anyone and everyone's faces.
Many of those jobs had been at a local barn. They had received some money in exchange for their hard work, but nothing had compared to the riding lessons they earned. That was what made the girls so sure there wasn't anything else they could see themselves doing aside from working with horses.
Starting Covenant Stables when they were 16 and 17 had been their big break- after months of cleaning up the old barns on their property and spending their savings on their first 2 horses things started to look up for them.
