Note: do not ask what I listened to while writing this, April. You would be really disappointed in me. (kidding- or am I? Since you like Adam Levine you shouldn't be disappointed in me for this. And no, its not him!)

Note #2: I'm cooollldddd and on coffee #3 for today (and its, like, 5 pm. Is that too late to drink coffee? I'm unsure.)

The girls were packing everything back up about an hour after they got on, having already put the horses back in the trailer and torn down their round pen. Now they were just putting a few extra little things away before getting back on the road again.

Rosaline climbed in the car, hooking up her phone to the aux chord excitedly. She got to choose the music now that she was driving! Not that she didn't love the music her sister played, because she really did, but playing her own music would be even better.

Despite loving and feeling most comfortable listening to Rock and Metal, Rosaline did also have a taste for some softer music too. All very unique- ranging from Mutemath and twenty one pilots to Troye Sivan and We Are The In Crowd. She wasn't sure where it came from- she just found the occasional slower or slightly more alternative/pop punk song to be very nice.

Of course she also listened to a lot of older Rock too- like Tool, Metallica, Guns 'N Roses, Megadeth, Chicago and more. It had sort of been drilled into her head by Joe and stuck, even after all these years. She could only guess that was where the taste for softer music came from, too, with him singing things like Birdy and We The Kings around the barn.

Sirenia hopped in the passenger's seat a minute or so later, glancing over to see Rosaline was still looking down at her phone. "Having trouble picking music?"

Rosaline nodded. "Too many choices," She muttered, scrolling through her library slowly. She hadn't bothered to check her texts- her phone was still on do not disturb anyways, meaning she had no idea whether anyone had text her or not.

Little did she know...

She finally settled on her favorite band- Pierce the Veil. She shuffled their albums, the first song to play being King For A Day. She smiled excitedly, settling herself in the driver's seat and shifting the car into drive.

She started singing along quietly as she drove, earning a sly look from Sirenia. She stayed quiet, choosing instead to look down at her phone and check her texts for the first time in what must've been 2 or 3 hours. She was surprised to see how many she had- all from Josh.

Her eyebrows scrunched as she also looked to see she had 7 missed calls... also all from Josh.

She clicked on their text conversation, scrolling to the top of his messages and working her way down slowly. They started out fairly normal and conversational but quickly moved into being slightly anxious and then full-on scared sounding.

Sirenia looked over at her sister, then down at her phone that was sitting in one of the empty cupholders. "Have you checked your texts?"

Rosaline shook her head. "Not since before I fell asleep. I think my phone's still on do not disturb."

"Do you mind if I check it?" She asked, earning a confused nod from her younger sister. Usually Sirenia didn't bother to ask before checking Rosaline's phone- they both looked at each other's phones without asking. They didn't go through texts or anything, of course, but it was never a question when one girl wanted to go on the other's phone.

Upon further investigation Sirenia saw that Rosaline's phone was indeed still on do not disturb, which would be why she hadn't gotten notifications for any of the 25 texts she'd received.
