"So... what's your favorite song by us?"Ricky asked, his eyes following Rosaline as she moved around Frankie adjusting the saddle and preparing to get on once again. They'd already finished up Stadium Jumping and were moving on to Cross Country, also known as what the guys quickly found to be the most dangerous of the 3 parts. Ricky wasn't as worried as some of the other guys, surprisingly, because... well... he wasn't sure why. He just wasn't.
Rosaline stopped for a moment, a thoughtful look on her face as she debated her answer. "That's a hard question to ask, y-you know. I can't just pick my f-favorite out of all of them like that."
"Well I'm asking you to." He smiled, leaning back against the trailer as his eyes moved to Frankie. "So you better hurry up and pick one."
"Could y-you pick your favorite HIM song right off the top of your head? What about your favorite AFI song?" Rosaline asked, earning a slow shake of the head from Ricky. "Exactly. I can't pick a favorite song from one of my favorite bands because they a-all matter to m-me."
Ricky paused for a moment, seemingly getting lost in thought. Motionless was one of her favorite bands? That was so cool. He knew she and Sirenia liked them, sure, but the shirts had given that away. He hadn't guessed they were the sister's favorite band.
"So why don't you pick a favorite off of every album. Start with The Whorror and move forward from there." Ricky offered, wondering what songs she'd pick. Hopefully nothing stereotypical he heard a lot- that would, in many ways, be a complete turn off.
Rosaline thought for a few seconds before nodding, seeming to approve of the compromise enough to give her thoughts. "My favorite off The Whorror is d-definitely Apocolips. I had a friend w-who struggled with and eventually died from addiction so it speaks to me a lot. Black is definitely a runner up on that though. It's hard to p-pick a favorite off of When Love Met Destruction as those are some of the first songs I heard by you guys, but I guess it comes down to either Billy In 4C or To Keep from G-Getting Burned. They both have a lot of personal meaning to me that I don't like to discuss so you'll have to trust me on those.
"My favorite off Creatures is definitely Scissorhands- there's no competition. It's such a dark, desperate song that you can't help but love it. Off Infamous it's definitely If Its Dead We'll Kill It. The riffs in that song are so cool and the chorus is infectious. Reincarnate is probably the hardest to choose from because as a band you guys all sound the most in-sync on that album; like everyone came together and really worked together on every single song. It has so much heart and soul that you can't help but love the entire album. And because of that my choice is a tie between three. Musically, my favorite is Break The Cycle. It's just got this incredible sound that I could listen to on repeat for hours without any lyrics. Lyrically it's a tie between Everybody Sells Cocaine and Dark Passenger. Not to mention the fact its written about one of the best TV shows ever, Dark Passenger is so incredibly catchy and well written that I couldn't see myself ever not wanting to listen to it. Everybody Sells Cocaine is so sincere and honest in its dark, heavy tone that I always find myself humming along when it comes on no matter what the circumstances."
It was only after she'd stopped talking that Rosaline realized she'd stopped stuttering.
And, of course, Ricky realized it too. "Do you always stutter?" He asked, only thinking about how that could have come across after the words had left his mouth. "Shit, sorry. That probably sounded horrible."
Blushing, Rosaline shook her head. "I-its fine. And n-no. Only around people I don't know."
"Well for what its worth, I love your opinions on our songs and the reasons behind liking each one. It makes it so much more sincere." Ricky smiled, a reassuring tone in his voice and eyes as he looked at her. "And I'm glad you're relaxing enough around me to stop stuttering, if that makes any sense."
