Jared's sandy blonde hair flopped in the cold April breeze, at times covering his eyes and obstructing his vision. He turned his head to try and yell across the ring to Rosaline. "Maybe riding outside wasn't the best idea!"

Rosaline's black and red hair was flying around despite being tied back in a ponytail. Jared's words were lost in the wind, but she understood the gist of what he was saying. "We can go inside if you want!"

Both Rosaline and Jared were currently out on school horses doing some routine work and training with them. Just simple things- working on bad habits, re-familiarizing themselves with how to ride them and making sure nothing major had changed with them. Sirenia was off somewhere cleaning her tack obsessively for the show that was still 5 days away, meaning she'd be using her tack between then and the show but was cleaning it anyways.

The horse Rosaline was on, Masquerade, was an all black 9-year-old Mustang cross that Rosaline and Sirenia had picked up at an auction a few years ago. She didn't have any sort of special breeding and wasn't an extremely talented jumper but excelled in Dressage. A few students of Rosaline's had taken her to First Level Dressage shows and come back with blue ribbons on multiple occasions.

She was very quiet and well behaved for a mare, so really the only reason Rosaline was on her was because she had grown to miss riding the mare. She'd been the one to put most of the training into her due to the fact that Sirenia had another horse at the time to train so Rosaline felt especially connected to this mare. She'd been abused before coming to Covenant but was still so kind and trusting- something that both sisters valued much more then bloodlines or extreme talent.

The horse Jared was on, Abigail, was one of the only other school horses that was a mare. She was a 16hh flea-bitten grey Thoroughbred that enjoyed randomly taking off across the ring when she got tired of work. She was mostly used for Hunters and Dressage, her two strong suits, but had recently been in some training to become an Eventing prospect for one of Sirenia's students. If all worked out, Abigail may not be a school horse much longer. Jared's job was just to keep her in training until a decision was made.

They both walked right out of the outdoor ring and towards the barn, not even bothering to get off their horses since they planned to walk right through the barn into the attached indoor. Rosaline glanced over as they past the window into the lounge just in time to see Sirenia walking over to them.

"Are you guys gonna ride inside?" She asked, giving Masquerade a pat on the shoulder. Rosaline nodded, earning an eye roll from Sirenia. "Of course you are. Pussies."

"I can barely hear myself think out there, much less concentrate on riding when the wind is like that!" Rosaline defended, swatting at her sister's shoulder playfully. "Don't make me get off this horse and slap you!"

Sirenia giggled, stepping back to lean on the wall next to the door into the lounge. "Alright alright! You up for a training ride after this? I wanna get Diablo out in this weather in case its like this at the show."

"Sure," Rosaline nodded, weighing out the possibilities of her falling off if she rode her own horse out in this weather. "Why not. I'll hop on Frankie so at least if Diablo freaks out I won't fall off too."

Less then an hour later, Rosaline found herself getting on her first and favorite horse Frankie. She and Sirenia had gotten him from auction when he was only a 3-year-old, buying him on a whim when they'd seen how sad he'd looked amongst the other horses. He'd been a small and sort of scraggly looking Quarter Horse x back then that Rosaline had been immediately drawn to, and little did she know just what buying him would turn into.
