"We should probably get a mounting block- unless you want to get a leg up from Ricky every time you get on, of course." Jared pointed out, looking pointedly at Rosaline as they walked their horses. They were far enough away from the guys to be out of earshot, but still close enough that Jared was speaking quietly to keep anyone else from hearing. "And you were worried about being uncomfortable around them. I think you got plenty comfortable with Ricky back there!"
Rosaline blushed, recalling what had happened only a few minutes ago. She hadn't had any interest in getting a leg up from Ricky, it just so happened that he'd offered. She didn't see the hint behind it either, of course, because she was far too oblivious and insecure to ever see someone liking her. Even understanding that friends and her students liked her was a struggle in her mind. She just couldn't see how they could like her.
"You act l-like I w-wanted him to t-t-touch me!" She defended, her stutter getting worse again. "I didn't w-want a leg up specifically f-from him, I j-just n-needed one."
Sirenia was a few steps away, lost in her own thoughts as she queued Diablo to start trotting. He moved into it gracefully, his head lowering into a low frame as he went. She couldn't concentrate on her riding, though. Not with her favorite band watching. How was anyone supposed to concentrate when their idols were watching them? She understood perfectly that they had no idea how to judge whether her and her horse looked 'good' or not, but the pressure was still there. What if she fell off at some point during the day? She was sure that couldn't somehow be misinterpreted as 'good'.
Rosaline, on the other hand, wasn't worried about much aside from her own judgement. Her own fear of failure far won out her worries about what those watching were thinking. It wasn't even a matter of whether her horse was capable or not- it came down to her own ability as a rider.
To those watching, of course, Rosaline looked to be a fantastic rider. Her and Frankie worked in perfect sync, almost as if they were reading each others minds. Rosaline thought something and Frankie quickly obliged.
And that seemed to be exactly what the guys were thinking.
"They look like they're not even making them do anything!" Ryan watched, his eyes darting between Sirenia and Rosaline in awe. If he didn't know any better he'd think the horses were doing all the work themselves. The only thing showing that wasn't the case was the occasional movement in their leg or hands.
"That's how its supposed to look, dumbass," Ghost explained, drawing from the limited knowledge he had of horses from all the time his brother had spent talking about them. "It's supposed to look effortless. They're scored on things like that."
Balz turned to look at Ghost curiously. "How do you know all this?" He asked, referring to the random facts he'd been spouting off since the girls got on their horses. "Are you secretly a horse rider or something?"
"Its equestrian, actually." Vinny corrected, his words holding an 'uh, duh' tone to it. "Not 'horse rider'."
"At least we all know why you're being a prick, it's because you like Rosaline!" Balz accused, rounding on his friend frustratedly.
Vinny shrugged. "So? She's hot and probably a cool person. So is her sister. I don't see the problem." He responded innocently, glaring pointedly at Ricky and Balz.
Ricky groaned. "Like you even give a shit about her personality. You're just desperate because you're still a virgin."
Balz, who had been trying to take the high road and ignore the youngest band member's comments, finally sent him a warning glare. "Back off, kiddo. Learn some subtlety first. Ricky's right- you're just desperate now."
