Calum followed closely behind me as we headed to my tiny kitchen. I didn't mean to break down in front of him like that, I'm sure it was awkward for him, but I couldn't help it. Thinking of my dad, and that text, and finding out he was gone, it was all too much for me to keep in. I can't remember the last time I cried like that because of my fathers death. Me and my mom always tried to avoid it, we wanted to pretend like my dad was just on some vacation and he'd be back soon.

But he won't be back.

My tiny feet pad across the tile floor as I walk to the cabinet to grab 2 mugs. I pick my favorite mug, the one my dad always used, and a plain blue one for Calum. Once I turn back around, Calum is sitting on the counter right by the coffee machine. He reaches his hands out and grabs both mugs from me, sets them down, and begins pouring coffee into them.

"So, are you ever gonna tell me what happened last night, and why I had to save you?" I say slightly above a whisper while adding two sugars to my coffee.

"No." He quickly snaps.

I flinch at his harsh response. I should've known he'd say no, but what else am I supposed to talk about with him? I've known him for technically only a day, and he's already sleeping over at my house and having coffee with me.

"Sorry." I finally reply.

Calum hops down from the counter and walks into the living room. He quickly snatches his coat from the back of my couch and slips on his shoes, then heads out the door without a word.

I know I shouldn't have asked that question, he already told me I had to act like it never happened.

I can't help but feel worried for him. Knowing his bad boy persona, it was shocking to see him so scared last night. He looked as if he watched 4 people get murdered and he was the killers next victim.

Something last night was terrifying him, and I want to know what it was.

Luke, Ashton, Michael, and Calum all were hanging out when Michael asked Abby to join, but she didn't want to be alone with all of them, which caused her to ask me to join. I've never actually hung out with any of them outside of parties and school other than Abby and Michael, but I decide to join them anyway. Calum pulled into the parking lot of the mall and we all quickly climbed out of the car as soon as the car stopped. Calum hasn't even glanced over at me ever since he left my house this morning. I decide not to bring it up, it'd probably be embarrasssing for everyone to know he spent any kind of time with me.

"So, where do you guys want to go?" Luke smiles and walks closer to me.

"Don't hate me for being a typical girl but I'm craving starbucks right now." Abby answers sweetly.

"Starbucks it is!" Luke quickly puts his arm over my shoulder and begins walking,

Luke is very sweet, very funny, and very attractive, but I can't help but feel slightly awkward with the way he's treating me. In the car on the way here he demanded he sat by me and the whole way drive it's like he had to be touching me in some way, whether it be just hardly slapping my arm or resting his hand on my knee.

Calum shoots Luke a glare, not knowing I saw it. The whole car ride I saw Calum giving Luke the dirtiest look, but why? He hates me because I asked about what happened last night. It's clearly not because of me.
