Victoria's P.O.V
The sun beaming through the open blinds shined on my eyes, causing me to finally wake. I slowly opened my eyes, grimacing at how bright the room was.
Calum's arm is under my neck, the other one resting on my side as I hear him tap away on his phone. I stay in my spot, knowing as soon as I move the hangover will hit me.
Calum continues to tap on his phone in silence. Occasionally he sniffles or clears his throat, trying hard to be as quiet as possible.
"Calum?" I finally spoke, my ears ringing instantly.
"Yeah, babe?" Calum locked his phone, turning slightly to set it on the small black nightstand beside his bed. He cautiously flipped back over, resting his hand on my hip and rubbing circles with his thumb.
"I feel awful." I mumble, laying back against his stomach and exhaling a deep breath.
"You were pretty drunk." He admits. He's right, I did this to used and I have to face the consequences.
Calum laces his arm under me, carefully turning me to face him. He slowly closed his eyes, causing his eyelashes to rest sleepily on his cheeks.
"Did you sleep last night?" I whisper, my voice slightly cracking making my already sore throat hurt even more.
"Yeah, for a while, actually," keeping his eyes closed, he places a small kiss to my forehead and smiles. "Sleeping beside you helps me sleep."
"That's lame as hell." I joke. His eyes shoot open and glare at me, leaving me in a fit of laughter.
"You're lame as hell." He mutters. I notice him look down at my lips, then back up to my eyes. Immediately I know what he's thinking.
"Hell no, go brush your teeth."
I swing my legs off the bed, pushing myself up slowly to make sure I don't get light-headed.
Honestly I expected this hangover to be much, much worse.
I have a pretty bad headache, a sore throat and my stomach isn't feeling the best, but I'm lucky I'm not vomiting.
I trudge into the bathroom, opening the small cabinet behind a mirror to look for some medicine. I push some bottles to the side, finally finding what I was looking for then shutting the cabinet.
Calum is still in bed, clinging onto a pillow when I walk back into the bedroom. His face is buried and his arm is wrapped tightly around the blue pillow.
I turn on my heel, deciding to leave him there. Once I'm downstairs, I look around to see if anyone else is here.
His parents are never around at that confuses me. I've maybe seen them with him a total of 10 times in the past month.
I grab my phone from the counter, unlocking it and instantly realizing it's Sunday.
I'm grateful winter break is coming up, school has been dragging on so slowly and I'm glad we'll have two weeks off, even though we had a week off a while ago for no good reason.
I'm mainly excited for Christmas, because if Calum and I are still together, I know exactly what I'm gonna get him.
I sit down on the fairly tall stool beside Calum's kitchen counter, scrolling on my phone while drinking a water.
Suddenly, fingers tickle at my sides and I drop my phone. Calum quickly pulls his hands back, one slapping over his mouth and the other by his side.
I grip my side, irritated by the amount of pain I'm feeling. I already know my phone is cracked, and by the second I'm growing more annoyed.
"Babe, I'm so sorry. I'll get you a new one." Calum speaks as he picks up the shattered phone from the floor.
"Calum, I don't care about that. I care about the fact that I was shot in the side not too long ago and you're tickling me right where the bullet hit."
Calum's mouth makes an "o" shape, right as he dangles his head in front of him.
"I'm so sorry, Tori. I completely forgot."
"It's okay, Cal." I screw the cap on my water bottle and set it down beside my ruined phone.
Pushing myself up from the stool, Calum pulls me close to his chest, resting his chin on my head. I wrap my arms around his torso, hooking my hands together and sighing.
"What do you want to do today?" Calum asks as he pulls away.
"Homework." I reply blankly. I haven't done any work since the incident between Calum and I took place, and it's really making my grades flop.
"Who the hell does homework?"
"People who want something good for their future, which is probably why you don't do it." As soon as the words leave my mouth, I regret them.
Calum squints his eyes at me, his face showing anger and sadness. He nods his head while biting his lip, turning away and walking.
"Calum, listen to me." I whisper. I see him shake his head as he turns back around, looking me in the eyes and sighing.
"No, listen to me." He demands. "This isn't going to work, you know, us. This relationship. It obviously won't work, so let's cut it off, yeah?"
My heart feels like it stops and I know I've fucked us up once again.
"Calum,"
"No, save it, Victoria. I'm not saying we can't be friends, but we're too different to be a couple. Let's just be friends for now, and see how that works for us."
He's right. We jumped into a relationship far too quickly and it's just not working for us. We need to see if we can even tolerate each other as friends before we decide to do anything else. Hell, I dated him for 4 days and he cheated on me.
"Yeah, yeah I guess."
"Yeah... you should leave, my parents will be home soon."
"Gotcha."
I grab my phone off the counter and slip on my shoes from by the front door, quickly storming out and slamming the door behind me.
Something tells me we won't even be able to remain friends.
