If it isn't obvious, my fanfic has a lot of talking in it, because personally I feel like that makes it more interesting.

I woke up to the sunlight beaming through my blinds. I flipped over on my bed and reached to grab my phone. When I picked up my phone, I noticed a small sticky note stuck to the back. I flipped my phone over and pulled off the sticky note, carefully reading the small yet neat words.

You fell asleep. Drove you home. Carried you to bed. No big deal. :) -Calum

My lips form a small smile as I set down the piece of paper on my dresser. I click the home button on my iPhone and it comes to life, shining bright in my face.

"9:08" I read to myself. Today was the day me and my mother were finally going to have a day to ourselves. Also the day I tell her I'm dating the son of our neighbors. Most of the time I would dread having to spend time with my mother. When my father died, I became very isolated and I never talked to anyone, not even her. I'm actually excited to spend the day with her, and catch up and let out feelings we've never before spoken of.

I walk into the kitchen and notice my mom isn't there. Then I check her room, the bathroom, the basement, the garage, and still no sign of her. I pull the house phone out of the holder and quickly dial her number, hoping for her to pick up.

She picks up on the first ring and sighs in to the phone.

"I'm sorry, Tori. They needed me for work today. Do you want to push our mommy daughter day to Thursday when I have the whole day off?" Her voice is full of hope but it still hurts.

"That's fine, it's okay. Yeah, we can do that. I don't want to hold you up. Have a good day, mom. Love you." I say softly before hanging up the phone. Now I have no plans for the whole day. I pull up my a-little-too-big pajama pants and slightly tug down my t-shirt. First I look in to the pantry for food, but we barely have anything. I decide on a granola bar and some chocolate milk. As I make my way over to the fridge, I hear the front door slowly open and close.

Someone is in my house.

I begin to panic and crouch down on to the floor behind the counter. My heart beats faster with every second that passes and I'm praying whoever is in my house is one of my friends.

"Victoria?" The all too fimiliar voice calls out and I laugh.

"Calum! You scared the shit out of me!" I scream while standing up from the floor as he enters the kitchen.

"Sorry babe, the front door was unlocked and you weren't answering your phone. How long do I have till your play-date with your mom starts?" He smirks and walks closer to me, pinning me between him and the kitchen counter.

"If you must know, you have a while. She got called in for work so it's not happening today." I push at his shoulders and walk back over to the fridge to get my drink. "Want anything?"

"No, I'm good." He lifts himself up on to the counter and pulls out his phone.

I pour myself a glass of chocolate milk and place the jug back in it's place. Calum stares at me as I open my granola bar and take a bite.

"Problem?" I ask with a full mouth.

"Let's do something today." He hops down from the counter and walks over to me once again.

"Like," I pause to swallow my food. "A date?"

"I don't know, isn't that what couples do? I told you, Victoria, I'm not good with this couple shit."

"Well, what do you want to do?" I throw away the trash to my granola bar and sit in the stool by Calum.

"I don't know, bowling? Dinner? Fishing? What the fuck, no scratch that. Who the fuck fishes?" His facial expression is twisted and I can't help but burst in to laughter. This is the Calum I fell for, the goofy, fun, weird Calum. I need to enjoy this side of him while it lasts, because I know eventually he's going to change.
