Chapter 19-

Spring Festival

"We made it!" Sakura exclaimed stopping at the entrance of the school grounds.

Sasuke nodded in agreement and viewed his surroundings. The grounds were filled with dozens of stations of food and games. Up beat music was being played loudly along with the chattering people roaming around. There were signs with arrows pointing in mutiple directions for several attractions the school and community offered. The freshly bloomed trees and flowers that covered the school grounds made the festival more appealing and inviting to all who passed the entrance.

"I never been to things like this before." Sasuke mumbled amazed by the site.

"Sasuke your going to have to promise me you'll come here every year till I come back. If I can't enjoy it then you will have to for me." Sakura said in a stern way that only a eight year old going on nine could muster. "Now let's go check out the stalls while we look for the others!"

The raven hair boy nodded frighten by the pinkette's behavior, he walked along side the girl who ooh'ed at all the prizes and commented on how the food smells good. The boy still gazed at everything in site, never once had his parents or brother taken him to these sort of events. His father never had time to, his mother was always busy tending to his father and his brother has grown to hang out with his friends than take him to places. Even he wasn't allowed to go alone without anyone accompanying him. The only reason he came was for Sakura, his friends, and that her the pinkette's parents would look after him when they came.

"Sasuke let's try this game!" Sakura squealed stopping in place and pointing at a booth with cute stuffed animals half her size.

She immediately ran over followed by Sasuke who was all smiles to come face to face with a game.

The pinkette chatted with the one in charge of the booth that Sasuke recognized to be a teacher.

"Ok now let me explain the rules of the game. It's a simple ball game where we take the ball and throw it into the basket." The teacher demonstrated, after they handed given her a dollar to play, the game throwing a ball into the basket with ease making Sakura wow in amazement. "When you get all four of your balls into the basket you win a prize, understand?"

The two kids nodded their heads excitedly before the lady set four balls each in front of them. They both picked one ball up and eyed their baskets carefully before throwing. Sasuke amazed himself by getting the ball into the basket but Sakura's ball hit the backboard and bounced off to the ground.

"I'll get it the second time." Sakura mumbled snatching up another ball and throwing it full force resulting in the ball bouncing off and aiming for her head. She ducked when the ball sailed her way but winced when a scream was heard.

"Sakura, watch it goes like this." Sasuke's gestured to his second ball demonstrating his technique as he carefully examined the distance and throw the ball with ease once more. "Like that."

Sakura nodded her head trying once more by picking up another ball. She examined everything carefully before throwing the ball only to miss again. The pinkette got the last ball and throw it in frustration missing again adding to her disappointment.

Sasuke threw his last remaining ball into the basket and smiled when he heard the lady congratulate him.

"Now chose any prize you see."

He took a moment to gaze at the prizes but frowned when he notice Sakura stare down the booth with mixed emotion. Sasuke pointed at one particular stuffed bunny that was light brown with patches of dark brown, it looked like a real bunny with a cartoonish feel. The teacher unhooked it and handed it over to the book. Once in his hands, Sasuke walked over to Sakura who gave him a small smile.

"That's a cute one Sasu-cake." She said meekly with a ting of jealousy. The pinkette wanted to win a prize for the first time but failed like she usually did at the festival games.

Sasuke gave her a big smile and presented the stuffed animal fully to her. "Good because this is for you."

The pinkette's eyes went wide at what he said before grabbing the toy with shakey hands. A smile grew wide on her face when she noticed her best friend smiling at her.

"Don't be sad when your with me, okay?" Sasuke had said with a smile grabbing a hold of the girl's hand.

Sakura nodded her head.

"Now let's go find the others!" The raven hair boy stated leading the girl away from the booth and toward the more crowded area of the festival. All while Sakura stayed close by Sasuke with her cheeks turning as pink as her own hair.
