Chapter 48 -
Fluff
Sasuke Uchiha stood in front of the school gates with his face glued to his phone and his other hand twiddling with a hair tie in his pocket. Students were rushing past him to the school grounds chattering and smiling within their groups. Cars passed and stopped letting their passengers off before going heading back into morning traffic. Naruto had passed him on his way to meet his girlfriend. The blond had tried to convince him to tag along so he won't be left by himself. But the Uchiha rejected the offer. Suigetsu and Juugo had come a little after, they greeted and talked some before the silver hair boy suggested they go hang around some place else before class. But the Uchiha rejected his offer waving them off telling them he'll meet them in class.
The stream of students slowly slowed. Morning carpool began to pick up speed. A particular black suv slowed to a stop in front of the boy.
"Bye bye. I'll be walking home again. I'll be okay." Somebody called out cheery answering every question a doting adult could ask.
They came rushing pass the front of the car and waved just as it slowly peeled off. Sasuke's head looked up to see the pinkette waving to the driver with red hair. Definitely not her mom or dad, Sasuke thought with a shiver at the last encounter with the Haruno patriarch.
"Sasuke." She walked over to him dressed as cutely as she possibly could.
The Uchiha tucked his phone back into his pocket then dove his hand straight to her empty hand and held it firmly. His other hand slid under the strap of her shoulder bag and slung it over his shoulder. "Hn," he responded then lead the way to school grounds.
Sakura began to ask him a slew of questions like 'how are you doing this fine morning?' or 'did you sleep good?'. Sasuke would mutter, grunt or whisper his response so only she could hear him.
Sakura's eyes would skim her phone to show him the cute dogs, a meme or post she found funny, and even clothing pages she found with things she found cute. Sasuke navigated the way to their class as she did so never letting anyone bump into her or for the girl to bump into anything with a protective instinct.
The pair walked into class as normal. Sakura sat at her seat and greeted her two friends who sat their staring with curious gazes. Sasuke handed the pinkette's bag back to her as he took his seat.
"'Morning." The sunkissed blonde called out to the ravenette with a raised brow.
"Hn." He responded not glancing in his way.
"You two seem closer." Hinata stated still all smiles as she usually was. Her lip twitched when she caught Sasuke's eyes, she had an idea.
"We've always been close." Sakura brushed the comment of tossing a few pieces of hair over her shoulder. "So did you do the assignment?"
Hinata turned herself to respond and Naruto interject after staring heavily at the silent Uchiha.
"Ay Sak! Did you do it?"
Kiba strolled into class with Shino on his tail when he caught wind on their conversation.
Sasuke didn't like the distance between the two when the wild hair boy came to her desk. Even if he knew the pinkette's heart was his. Out of irritation, he rested his fist on his lap trying his hardest to reduce his anger. Sakura, who noticed his small movements, responded back and laid her hand on his.
"Yeah, me and Sasuke helped each other on the assignment."
The Uchiha's hand relaxed some as the girl's hand wiggled it's way to hold it. All their friends began to grin when the pinkette was explaining her answers to the work. Sakura and Sasuke were content.
