Chapter 49-
The Future
"Gross Suigetsu take that out your mouth! When you asked to borrow a pencil I didn't want your germs on it!" Karin had shrieked in disgust.
"Relax, I'll clean it up later." He responded back flipping mindlessly in his textbook.
"Cleaning it doesn't mean to wipe it on your clothes!" She huffed pushing her glasses further up her nose.
Sasuke glared up at the pair in an attempt to stop their ridiculous argument. He didn't need any distractions, he needed to concentrate.
Finals were coming up fast. Between soccer games, classes and hanging out with his friends, the Uchiha had lost track of time. He had decided it was best to study with Karin and Juggo who had no problem in any subject. Not that he needed help but to concentrate for the upcoming week.
He could've studied with someone else like Hinata or even Shino but decided against it knowing he'd have a certain pinkette distracting him.
"Suigetsu pay more attention. That is not the correct way to solve that particular problem." Juggo went on to explain to his silver hair friend the right way to solve the mathematical equation.
"Either way, I got the right anwser didnt I?" Suigetsu huffed throwing his hands to his head. "My head hurts."
"Maybe if you paid more attention in class you wouldn't be cramming in a year's worth of information." Karin scribbled in her notebook.
"Maybe that's enough for the day." Sasuke closed his notebook then reached for his cellphone in his pocket.
"Finally." The silver haired teen cheered slamming his books shut and look around him. "Since we're done here, let's get a bite to eat."
The Uchiha's eyes stayed glued to his phone mindlessly scrolling as his friends debated where to go in hush voices not to disturb others around them in the library where they were currently. He just wanted the week to be over with so he could have some fun.
"Ok ok, lets go to that small restaurant down by the ramen shop. It has a lot of good stuff even your lame grass food." Suigetsu stifled his laugh at Karin's irritated face.
"Let's go then." Sasuke nodded getting up from their table and headed out the door.
The others followed after him as they followed the pavement sidewalk with their bookbags in tow.
"With summer coming up, we should plan something. Like go to the lake or the beach, anything that's away from here." Karin sighed adjusting her glasses up the bridge of her nose. "I know my aunt, Naruto's mom, she'll come up with something too like a cook out."
"Oh sounds fun, count me in Karin." Suigetsu grinned at the girl.
"Me as well." Jugo pipped up.
"Hmp, I'll see to it." She looked away too proud to let her friends see how happy she was.
"Next year's gonna be a lot of work with us being eleventh graders. Not only do we have school work to worry about but the teachers badgering us with college this and that." Suigetsu rolled his eyes at the thought.
"They just want us to be prepared for our future." Jugo interjected.
"Future? I'll be some cool guy who doesn't need preparation." The silver hair teen puffed out his chest grinning like a fool.
The future, was the main think Sasuke's mind wrapped around. What did his hold? He knew something in the criminal justice field would probably suit him, just like his dad who's a detective and his brother who was studying in the field. Or maybe he'll get something in buisness for a suitable office job where he'll work nine to five hours in a boring cubicle like a zombie. After a few years of studying in college and getting a career he would find himself a wife and make a family and home in the Uchiha area. The thought of who his wife would be clouded his mind next. Black and white images of a women's body and flowing hair plagued his mind.
Sasuke followed his friends into the eating establishment and ordered his meal as his friends had. He sat at the table they chose and ate wordlessly only making small contributions to the conversation. When they finished up and Suigetsu & Karin began to fight for the millionth time that day, they decided it was best to go home. They parted ways outside the restaurant and headed in different directions.
Sasuke had stuffed his hands in his pockets and kept his dark eyes trained on the ground as he ventured home. He passed by a couple busy establishments dodging people at ease. He hated crowded loud areas. He just wanted to be home already imagining more about his mystery wife.
"Sassuke!" He heard a shout sounding above all the commotion.
The Uchiha stood still with his head up and people walking around him to get by. Not too far away stood Sakura smiling brightly with her hand resting on her head. Beside her stood a tall man with red blood hair his eyes a dull brown compared to his bright hair. When the pinkette found a way to the Uchiha, she skipped right over with the man following suit.
"I thought you went out studying with your other friends Sasu?" The Haruno girl asked so innocently.
Sasuke's eyes drifted to the man then to the bags in his hands before staring Sakura in the eyes. "I did. We just got done and I was just going home."
"We can give you a ride home if you like!" She offered instantly reaching for the boy's hand.
"Its alright." Sasuke grunted moving around the pinkette before being pulled up straight.
"Its no problem though. Come on."
Sakura had wrapped her small slender hand on his forearm and used only a bit of her strength. The Uchiha nodded wordlessly following her to the familiar black suv with the read hair man following after them.
Sasuke sat in silence with Sakura talking his ear off. They only been separated for a day but by the way she spoke, it seemed like weeks which he didn't mind. When they arrived to his home, the pair slipped out the vehicle and walked to the front door. He looked down at the pinkette who was trying her best to seem level headed.
"Okay Sasuke, you have a nice night." She bite out not looking him in the eye. "I'll text you later okay?"
"Alright." He responded staring her down.
Sakura looked up at Sasuke then back to the ground and sighing heavily. Before he could push her to leave, the pinkette got on her tippy toes and pressed her lips against his. For only a brief second, Sasuke watched her blushing cheeks and scrunched up face before closing his own eyes to remember the moment. She pulled away and began to run toward the suv without looking back.
Sasuke watched the vehicle drive away and thought of the mysterious wife who's silhouette had remained black and white. The silhouette slowly morphed and he began to see a pale skin girl with long flowing pink hair, she turned toward him flashing him a smile with her twinkling green eyes gleaming as her dress twirling with her.
