Chapter 28-

Conflict

The blonde glared heavily at the raven hair teen who sat a foot away from him reading quietly while nimbling into the carrot sticks he had brought from home. The blonde refused to look away even with his girlfriend tugging on his orange jacket every five minutes. Shikamaru looked up lazily turning away from Ino who was talking animatedly to him. He noticed how everyone was minding their own business ignoring the blonde.

"Naruto what are you doing?" Shikamaru finally asked after a few minutes of debating in his head.

The whole table turned to look at Naruto, even Sasuke who was oblivious to his actions.

"I'm waiting for this teme TO NOTICE ME!"

"What's your deal? Sasuke doesn't always have to give you attention Naruto." Choji chimed.

"You don't get it. HE'S BEEN IGNORING ME ALL WEEKEND."

"So what? I been busy." Sasuke answered closing his book to glare back at the boy beside the quiet lavender girl.

"You blew me off after practice Saturday."

"I already made plans that day dope."

Both friends stood up abruptly from the picnic table and glared angrily at each other. The lavender hair girl seated between the two boys shook nervously at the bad vibes they gave off. Seeing his cousin scared made Neji look up at the fight.

"Enough with the fighting. It's ridiculous how childish you guys are being." Neji spoke harshly.

Sasuke and Naruto still held each other in a glare not listening or caring to their friend's effort in breaking the small squabble.

"Hey Sasuke, wanna come join us?" A foreign voice asked.

Sasuke looked to the person and visibly soften at the small group of Suigetsu, Juugo, and Karin they all had kind smiles. He noticed his childhood friends all staring at them in curiosity while Naruto looked to be fuming that the raven boy was actually thinking about it.

"Yeah give me a minute." Sasuke said grabbing his book bag and stuffing his belonging into it before walking over to the small group. "See ya."

Naruto watched his best friend leave laughing happily, he felt betrayed by him.

"N-naruto." Hinata said pulling on the boy's jacket to make him sit.

"You can't honestly be upset that he's making friends are you?" Ino asked watching the blonde's intense stare.

"I just feel were becoming distant." Naruto answered solemnly with a frown on his usual cheery face.

"What was up with all that back there?" Suigetsu asked sipping at his water filled water bottle.

"Oh that, my friend was just spouting nonsense." Sasuke shrugged sitting back on the bleacher.

The group of four walked off to the soccer field and sat themselves at the very top of the steel bleachers to wait out the rest of the lunch period. It was rather peaceful, far from the rowdy school population.

"It looked like he was on a verge of a breakdown. Almost like a less violent version of Juugo's." Karin spoke pausing from eating her lunch she bought from home. Juugo nodded in agreement from beside her eating his lunch as well.

"He's always like that since we were kids." The raven hair boy said with a shake of his head.

"How could you handle him?" Suigetsu asked.

Sasuke looked up at the sky in thought. He hardly knew how he handled that loudmouth of a friend. He suppose it was due to his friends all keeping them in order. Or it could be Hinata, the shy quiet girl, that clung to the blonde keeping his outburst at bay. But then again, that certain pinkette almost always came to the rescue when the blonde and raven hair boys just started to become friends.

"I guess it was because of a mutal friend." Sasuke said rubbing his head.
