Chapter 42-
Our Day
Sasuke sat on the steps of his porch and stared out into the neighborhood watching some of his relatives working in their yards or playing or walking the blocks. And there he is, all dressed in a black collared shirt with the first two buttons unbuttoned and a pair of dark jeans along with black dress shows he only wore on special occasions. He was drenched in his brother's expensive cologne that smelt good. To avoid any questions, especially his father's unwanted glares and possible criticism, he planted himself on the steps waiting. Itachi agreed to play chauffeur on his date with Sakura. A real date. With Sakura.
Sasuke skipped practice, much to Neji's dismay, so that he and Sakura could enjoy their Saturday together.
Amazingly enough, the young Uchiha planned the whole day. A day he has yet to tell Sakura all about because he wanted to surprise her. Especially since he was too nervous to begin with.
"Sasuke, are you ready?"
The youngest Uchiha looked up to see his brother dressed in all black with car keys in hand as well as that smile that never goes away.
"Yeah."
Sasuke walked toward his brother's car, dreading the seconds going by.
Itachi drove to the pinkette's house without a problem. He sat in the car when Sasuke went to get her.
The ravenette knocked twice firmly on the door for anyone to hear. He heard a few voices talking then the door swung wide open.
"Sasuke! Are you here to take my daughter on another date?!"
Kizashi Haruno stood in the door with a mean glare. Nothing like the one Sasuke saw as a kid. Behind him he noticed a bit of pink and talking in hush voices.
Sasuke sighed knowing there was no way around the man. "Yes sir."
"Where exactly are you taking her?"
"It's a surprise that even Sakura doesn't know about." The Uchiha bit his lip remembering what Itachi had told him only minutes earlier. "But don't worry Mister Haruno, my older brother is in the car and he'll be driving and will be with us everywhere."
'Unfortunately.' Sasuke though but fought the urge to say aloud.
"Oh dear. Don't give the boy such a hard time." Mebuki walked up beside the older man with the same warm smile she always wore. "He's the same cute gentlemen of a boy from years ago."
She laughed when her husband furrowed his brows to argue.
"Let it go. Now let your daughter go or she'll be upset that we wasted her day." The Haruno matriarch said.
Sasuke's ear perked up when he heard a door close and voices talking. He heard inaudible words being spoken like 'him' and 'date'.
"If my daughter isn't back by eight-" Kizashi began to hiss at the Uchiha.
"Nine." Mebuki interjected latching a hand to Kizashi's crossed arms.
"By nine. I will go out and look for you."
"Daddy stop."
All three people standing at the door turned to see a head of pink squeeze beside Kizashi's broad shoulders. Sakura was staring up at her dad with her lips in a tight line but her bright eyes were the only thing Sasuke noticed.
Sakura crossed her arms over her red and white circled patterned off-the-shoulder top. She shifted all her weight onto her left leg as she propped her right leg out showing off her bare legs in the long white knee length skirt she wore.
