Ash looked around the dimly lit park. She saw people with many different stories. A blonde woman with a wedding ring on. It was old but she wasn't. She lost someone. A grandparent or parent. She was a business woman considering her outfit and everything she was carrying with her; papers, files and a briefcase.

She saw a young brunette pacing back and forth close to the gate to the park, where they were sat. He had tears streaming down his face and he looked extremely distressed. She had a strange feeling in her stomach and wanted to walk away and take the young, black haired man with her.

"I promise. It all gets better. See all these people? They've been through some terrible things. Look where they are now." She nodded to he blonde business woman, "she will've lost someone and she's successful,"

"Have you lost anyone?"

The woman nodded and smiled sadly, "my parents and my brother. Three years ago in a car accident,"

"Oh." Phil knew not to say 'I'm sorry' about someone's loss. It didn't help, it wouldn't bring them back, "I should be getting hom-" he froze.

"What's wrong?" Ash frowned and Phil's sudden freezing.

"I don't have anywhere to live," panic flashed across his face, "I live with Dan and his family,"

"It isn't his house, you can still stay there,"

Phil's breathing became rugged again and tears stung his eyes once more, "I'm so fucked,"

"Go home, okay?" She told him, pulling out a pen and writing her number on his hand plus her name, Ash, "call me if you need anything or if this guy, what's his name?"

"Dan,"

"If this guy, Dan's being a dick,"

Phil giggled quietly and his smile seemed to light up the world. It was beautiful, and someone decided to throw that away, "thank you,"

Ash frowned and flicked her red hair over her shoulder, "what for?"

"Talking to me. You know, most people would ignore the teenager sitting on a swing and sobbing. So thank you,"

"I'm not gonna ignore someone who's at risk,"

Phil knew what she meant. This was a nice neighbourhood. The only person he was at risk of was himself. She knew that. And Phil hated that.
