Chapter 16

{Chris's POV} 

I was woken up by someone knocking at the door I got up off the couch and answered the door it was Ricky and he looked pissed I let him into the house we walked into the living room I laid back down on the couch and Ricky just stood glaring at me. 

"Chris what the hell did you do to Esmeralda last night?" Ricky demanded. 

"I was working in my office all day yesterday and Esmeralda came into my office and asked me if I was coming to bed or was, I planning to stay up all night and work. Esmeralda got angry at me took off her engagement ring and threw it at me, she stormed upstairs and packed a bag of clothes. I heard Esmeralda slam the door when she left, I stood on the porch and watched her drive away." I explained somberly. 

I held my head in my hands and sighed I didn't mean to make Esmeralda angry at me last night I felt like a complete fool for upsetting the love of my life I took my head out of my hands Ricky looked at me and shook his head. 

"Balz called me this morning and told me that Esmeralda is staying with him and Ryan Ashley if you go get dressed, I'll take you to Balz and Ryan Ashley's store since that's where Esmeralda is." 

"What's the point in me going she's not going to take me back not after the way I treated her." 

"Chris, you don't know that until you try, you need to apologize to that poor girl." Ricky explained. 

I ran upstairs and got ready when I was finished getting ready, I walked back downstairs Ricky and I left the house we walked down to his SUV. we climbed into his SUV, Ricky put the key in the ignition and started the engine he drove away I couldn't stop thinking about how angry I made Esmeralda last night. 

"Did Balz tell you how Esmeralda was when she got to his house?" I asked sadly. 

"Balz said when Ryan Ashley answered the door and saw Esmeralda standing on the door step crying, they took her in and she told them what had happened between you too." Ricky said. 

"I didn't mean to upset her I am such an idiot." 

"There's an idiot in all of us and you my friend just happen to be an idiot when it comes to love besides all Esmeralda wanted was for you to go to bed with her but you ignored her and Esmeralda got angry which I don't blame her." 

When we arrived at Strange And Unusual, Ricky parked in front of the store and turned off the engine Ricky and I got out of the SUV and walked into the shop Balz was standing at the counter the minute he saw me he just shook his head. 

"Balz where's Esmeralda, I would really like to see her so I can talk to her?" I asked. 

"Esmeralda is in the back room with Ryan Ashley head on back but before you do you should give her these." Balz said. 

Balz handed me silk black roses I took a deep breath and walked into the back-room Ryan Ashley and Esmeralda were sitting on a purple Victorian style couch talking the minute I saw Esmeralda, I realized that I hurt her pretty bad her eyes were puffy from crying. Esmeralda looked at me and started crying Ryan Ashley got up off the couch and left the back room I sat down on the couch next to Esmeralda I sat the silk black roses on the Victorian style coffee table. Esmeralda climbed onto my lap and laid her head on my chest I gently rubbed her back and kissed the top of her head she snuggled closer to me. 

"Baby I am really sorry about last night I should have just gone to bed with you when you asked me to come to bed because you wouldn't have gotten angry at me, I didn't mean to spend all day in my office. Before I met you that's all I ever did was spend all of my time in my office and work on new music and now that I have you in my life, I need to spend majority of my time with you and not in my office because it isn't fair to you, and I am very sorry for making you cry." 

"Puddin', I accept your apology and I am sorry as well I didn't mean to take off my engagement ring and throw it at you." 

"I accept your apology as well baby." I said. 

"Puddin' can I please have my engagement ring back please?" Esmeralda asked. 

I took the engagement ring out of the pocket of my jacket and placed it back onto her finger she turned around on my lap facing me she wrapped her arms around my neck and kissed me I wrapped my arms around Esmeralda's waist and held her close. Esmeralda laid her head on my shoulder and stifled a yawn I knew she was tired I was tired myself because I didn't have Esmeralda sleeping next to me. 

"Somebody's sleepy." 

"I didn't sleep to well last night because I wasn't sleeping next to you." 

"I didn't sleep well either because I slept on the couch because I didn't want to sleep in our bed without you." I said. 

"Puddin', I want to go home and take a nap." Esmeralda replied. 

Esmeralda crawled off my lap and grabbed her bag and purse she held my hand and grabbed the silk black roses off the coffee table we left the back room I felt Esmeralda lay her head against my arm I scooped her up in my arms Balz and Ricky helped me take Esmeralda out to the SUV. I put Esmeralda in the SUV, I climbed into the SUV, I put the key in the ignition and started the engine I drove away. When we arrived home, I turned onto my street and parked in front of the house and killed the engine I got out of the SUV and walked up to the house I opened the storm door and unlocked the inside door I opened the door. I walked back down to the SUV, I opened the door to the backseat and grabbed Esmeralda's bag I closed the door and opened Esmeralda's door I scooped her up in my arms and closed the door. I carried Esmeralda into the house I closed the front door and locked it I turned on the security system I carried her upstairs to our room I gently laid her down on the bed I removed her Jack Skellington moto jacket and removed her boots. I unpacked her bag and put everything away I grabbed her Harley Quinn fleece throw blanket and covered her up I softly kissed her cheek I was about to leave the bedroom when I heard Esmeralda mumbling in her sleep. 

"Babe, I want you to stay please don't leave me." 

I kicked off my boots and took off my leather jacket I grabbed my Steelers fleece throw blanket and laid down on the bed with Esmeralda, I covered myself up with my blanket Esmeralda snuggled up beside me I wrapped my arms around her, she laid her head on my chest I held her close I kissed the top of her head. 

"I will never leave you I promise because you are the best thing that has ever happened to me." I said. 

After a while I fell asleep when I woke up and looked at the time on my phone it was one in the afternoon Esmeralda was starting to stir, she draped her leg across me and climbed on top of me she looked at me and smiled I smiled back I noticed she was shivering.

"Baby, are you chilly?" 

"I'm cold as well as my hands and feet." 

"I'll go downstairs and turn the heat on because I am a little chilly myself." I said. 

Esmeralda climbed off of me, I walked downstairs and turned the heat on I walked back upstairs to mine and Esmeralda's room I laid back down on the bed beside her, she leaned over and kissed me. Esmeralda and I walked downstairs we walked into the living room and snuggled on the couch I wrapped my arm around her, she laid her head on my shoulder and kissed my cheek I looked at her and smiled. 

"What do you have planned tonight?" 

"I am planning to cuddle with you on the couch and then carry you upstairs to bed." 

"Sounds lovely babe although I might be in bed early tonight because I am really tired." Esmeralda explained. 

"I agree I think we both might have an early night." I replied. 

Esmeralda kissed me and left the living room I followed her into the kitchen and turned on the coffee pot I walked up behind Esmeralda and wrapped my arms around her waist I nuzzled her neck I helped Esmeralda with dinner. Later on, that night Esmeralda and I took our showers when I came out of the bathroom I climbed into bed with Esmeralda and checked on her, she was sound asleep I softly kissed her cheek and turned off the lamp I draped my arm across her and went to sleep.
