Chapter 17

{Esmeralda's POV} 

When I woke up Chris was still fast asleep, I softly kissed his forehead he was starting to stir Chris kissed me we smiled against each other's lips. 

"Happy Birthday my love." 

"Thank you, baby. Can I open my present now?" 

"Puddin' I'm not your present but I do have a surprise for you later." I said with a smile in my voice. 

"You're up to something." Chris replied. 

Chris and I walked downstairs we walked into the kitchen I started cooking breakfast Chris wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed my cheek I felt my cheeks get warm.

"Babe behave yourself." 

"Baby you do realize I don't know how to behave myself whenever I am near you, but I will try to behave myself." 

"What would you like to do for your birthday?" I asked. 

"I would like to spend the day hanging out with my brothers like I always do but I would also like to spend the day with you because I want to spend my birthday with the love of my life." Chris said. 

After breakfast Chris and I were getting dressed I walked into the bathroom when I was finished in the bathroom I walked back into the bedroom and made the bed I sat down on the bed and put on my combat boots Chris sat beside me on the bed.

"Babe why don't you go out with your brothers and later on tonight we can spend the rest of your birthday together." 

"Sounds like a plan to me." 

Chris grabbed his leather jacket and put it on we walked downstairs I walked him to the door he wrapped his arms around my waist I wrapped my arms around his neck Chris leaned in and kissed me he left the house. I walked into the living room and sat down on the couch I was watching TV when I heard someone knocking at the door I got up and answered the door it was Ryan Ashley, she came into the house and gave me a hug I hugged her back.

"Ryan Ashley, I really need your help I have no idea what to get Chris for his birthday." I said. 

"Chris is into sports I know he likes hockey and football." Ryan Ashley replied. 

"I know he has a Tampa Bay Lightning jersey, but I didn't see a Philadelphia Flyers jersey in the closet the only thing I saw of the Flyers is a jacket and a hoodie." 

"I think Chris would love a Flyers jersey since that's his favorite hockey team." 

I ran upstairs to mine and Chris's room I grabbed my Jack Skellington motto jacket and put it on I grabbed my Harley Quinn purse and walked back downstairs Ryan Ashley and I left the house we climbed into her SUV, she put the key in the ignition and started the engine she drove away. 

"Ryan Ashley thank you for letting me stay with you and Balz the other night." I said. 

"Esmeralda you are more than welcome we were happy to have you I'm glad that you and Chris patched things up because you too make a great couple and I have never seen him this happy before." Ryan Ashley explained. 

"Chris told me that I am the best thing that has ever happened to him Chris is the best thing that has ever happened to me because he stood up to my parents for the way that they treated me. Chris didn't have to go home with me when I lost my grandma earlier this month, he didn't have to take me in when my parents kicked me out." 

"Chris is a great guy and they are hard to find so if I were you, I would hold onto him because there is no other guy like him." 

When we arrived at the mall Ryan Ashley pulled into the parking lot and parked the SUV, she killed the engine and took the key out of the ignition we climbed out of the SUV and walked inside the mall. Ryan Ashley and I walked into the sports shop we walked over to the hockey jerseys and found a Philadelphia Flyers jersey I bought the jersey; Ryan Ashley and I left the store we walked around the mall and walked into Hot Topic, I was looking through merch with The Nightmare Before Christmas when my cellphone started ringing, I pulled my cellphone out of my purse and answered it. 

"Hey babe." I said. 

"Hey baby, where are you?" Chris asked.

"I am at Hot Topic with Ryan Ashley for a girl's day out." 

"I was just calling to make sure you were okay because I called the house and I got worried when you didn't answer the phone." 

"I didn't mean to make you worried I should have called or texted you to let you know that I was going out. I can't wait to spend the evening with you later." 

"I'll be home in a few minutes and then it will be just you and me this evening I promise." Chris replied. 

"I am really looking forward to this evening." I said. 

When I got off the phone with Chris, I bought a Misfits t-shirt for Chris, I paid for the t-shirt and left the store with Ryan Ashley we left the mall and climbed back into the SUV, Ryan Ashley put the key in the ignition and started the engine she drove away. When we arrived back at Chris's house, I noticed his SUV was still gone I climbed out of Ryan Ashley's SUV and ran up to the house I opened the storm door and unlocked the inside door I walked into the house and waved to Ryan Ashley to let her know that I was safely inside. I closed the inside door and locked it I walked upstairs to mine and Chris's room I grabbed the remote to his stereo and turned it on Misfits started playing I took off my Jack Skellington motto jacket and hung it back up in the closet I put my purse away I sat down on the floor and put Chris's birthday gifts into a gift bag. I stopped the CD and turned off his stereo I grabbed the gift bag and walked downstairs I walked into the kitchen and sat the gift bag on the kitchen table I started cooking dinner I was in the middle of frying chicken wings when I heard Chris come into the house. 

"Honey, your puddin's home." 

"I'm in the kitchen puddin'" 

I heard Chris come into the kitchen he walked up behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist and nuzzled my neck I felt my cheeks get warm he kissed my cheek I looked at him and smiled. 

"Babe the gift bag sitting on the table is for you." I said. 

"Baby, you didn't have to get me anything for my birthday." Chris replied. 

"I chose to get you something for your birthday." 

"I'll open my gifts now." 

Chris grabbed his gift bag off the table and sat it on the counter he opened the gift bag and took out the Flyers jersey and Misfit's t-shirt, Chris looked at the t-shirt and smiled he put the t-shirt and jersey back into the gift bag and kissed me. 

"Thank you, baby I love my gifts every much." Chris said. 

"I'm glad you like your gifts." I replied. 

Later on, that night I came downstairs from taking my shower I had on one of the sexy nightgowns that I bought when I went out shopping with Ryan Ashley the other day I walked into the kitchen and made myself a cup of hot coco. I felt Chris wrap his arms around my waist and nuzzled my neck I shivered a little Chris kissed my cheek and turned me around facing him. 

"Baby, are you cold?" 

"Yeah, I got a cold chill when you were nuzzling my neck." 

"I know why your dressed like that, but I want you no matter how you look because your beautiful no matter how your dressed." Chris explained turning off the stove.

"Babe that is the sweetest thing any guy has ever said to me I'll go change after I have my hot coco." I said. 

Chris scooped me up his arms and carried me upstairs to our room he walked into the room and gently put me down I changed out of the nightgown and was looking through my t-shirts for an old t-shirt to wear to bed. Chris smiled and handed me one of his t-shirts I smiled and put on his t-shirt I stifled a yawn and climbed into bed Chris climbed into bed with me and covered us up he turned off the lamp and wrapped his arms around me we fell asleep.
