Chapter 34

{Chris's POV} 

When I woke up Esmeralda wasn't in bed, I got up out of bed and walked downstairs I walked into the kitchen Esmeralda was sitting at the table having breakfast with my mother, Juliet, and Nick. I fixed myself up a plate of bacon and eggs I made myself a cup of coffee I sat my plate and mug on the table and sat down next to Esmeralda. After breakfast Esmeralda and I were loading up my SUV to head back home Esmeralda and I said good-bye to my mother, Juliet, and Nick. 

"Christopher, Esmeralda have a safe drive home." my mother said. 

"We will mom I promise." I said. 

Esmeralda and I climbed into the SUV, I put the key ignition and started the engine I drove away on the way home I reached over and held her hand Esmeralda looked at me and smiled she leaned over and kissed my cheek. 

"Babe, does it bother you that your mother calls you Christopher instead of Chris?" 

"Not really I'm used to it but there are times when I wish my mother would call me Chris like you and everyone else." 

"I had fun with your mother, Juliet, and Nick. Juliet and I talked a lot she wanted to know how we met, and I told her." Esmeralda said with a smile. 

"Juliet likes you more than the girl I was with way before I met you at least I know you won't hurt me." I explained. 

When we arrived home, I parked in front of the house and killed the engine I took the key out of the ignition Esmeralda and I climbed out of the SUV, we grabbed everything out of the SUV and walked up to the house. I opened the storm door and unlocked the inside door Esmeralda and I walked into the house I turned on the security system and walked upstairs to mine and Esmeralda's room I unpacked my overnight bag and put my dirty clothes in the hamper I heard Esmeralda coming up the stairs she came into the room. 

"Baby when your finished unpacking your overnight bag bring your dirty clothes down to the basement." 

"Wait you do laundry?" 

"Yeah why?" I asked confused. 

"I never knew there was a guy in this world that does their own laundry my father would never do laundry he always said that's women's work same way with cleaning he said that was women's work as well." Esmeralda explained. 

I emptied the hamper I put the dirty clothes into a laundry basket I carried the basket downstairs into the basement I heard Esmeralda coming down the basement stairs she helped me load up the washing machine when we were finished loading up the washing machine, we walked back up the basement stairs. Esmeralda and I walked into the living room we took off our jackets I took them upstairs to mine and Esmeralda's room I hung our jackets back up in the closet and walked back downstairs. I walked back into the living room and joined Esmeralda on the couch she snuggled up beside me I wrapped my arm around her, she laid her head on my chest. 

"What are we watching?" 

"We're watching a cartoon-on-Cartoon Network called We Bare Bears." 

"Which one of the bears do you like?" I asked. 

"I like the Panda Bear because I love Panda's." Esmeralda said. 

I stretched out across the couch with Esmeralda, I grabbed my Tampa Bay Lightning blanket off the back of the couch and covered us up I wrapped my arms around Esmeralda, she laid her head on my chest. 

"Where's Binx and Creature?"

"In your office sound asleep on the leather couch." Esmeralda replied. 

"We almost had sex on that couch." I said with a smile. 

"I love you, Chris." 

 "I love you too, Esmeralda." 

I checked on Esmeralda, she was sound asleep I softly kissed her forehead and watched TV, I fell asleep when I woke up Esmeralda was still asleep, I felt her starting to stir she leaned up and kissed me. 

"Are you sure your brothers won't mind that you're bringing your wife along?" Esmeralda asked.

"Honey my brothers won't mind I promise besides Kylie, Jamie, and Ryan Ashley are coming along as well." I explained. 

Later on, that night I came downstairs from taking a shower I walked into the living room Esmeralda was laying on the couch with a pillow over her face I walked over to her and sat down on the edge of the couch. 

"Baby, are you okay?" 

"I have a massive headache that won't go away." 

"You have a migraine just lay here and I'll be back." I said. 

I walked into the kitchen and grabbed Excedrin's for migraines I got Esmeralda a glass of water and walked back into the living room I handed her two Excedrin's and the glass of water Esmeralda handed me the empty glass I took the empty glass back into the kitchen. I walked back into the living room and sat down on the couch with Esmeralda, she snuggled up beside me I wrapped my arm around her, she buried her face in my chest I kissed her head. 

"Babe, I'm going up to bed." 

"I'll be up in a little bit." 

Esmeralda kissed me good-night and left the living room I sprawled out on the couch and turned off the TV, I walked down the hall and walked into my office I grabbed my iPod touch out of my desk drawer and walked back into the living room. Someone was knocking at the door I sat my iPod down on the coffee table and turned off the security alarm I answered the door it was Esmeralda's aunt and uncle. 

"Did we wake you and Esmeralda?" Mrs. Sky asked. 

"No, I was just watching TV, Esmeralda is in bed she has a migraine." I said. 

"Thomas and I just wanted to drop off you and Esmeralda's, Christmas gifts." 

"Would you and Mr. Sky like to come in and stay the night?" 

"Are you sure we wouldn't want to be a bother." Mrs. Sky explained. 

"You won't be a bother." I said. 

Mrs. Sky handed me the gifts for me and Esmeralda, I put them in the living room I showed them upstairs to the guest room I walked back downstairs I locked the storm door and closed the inside door and locked it I turned the security alarm back on. I walked into the living room I grabbed my iPod and turned off the lamp I walked back upstairs and checked on Esmeralda's aunt and uncle. 

"Thank you for letting us stay the night, Chris." 

"Your more than welcome I'm sorry that I don't have a crib for the girls to sleep in." 

"It's okay." Mrs. Sky said. 

"If you and Mr. Sky need anything mine and Esmeralda's room is right up the hall." I replied. 

I left the guest room and closed the door behind me I walked up the hall to mine and Esmeralda's room I walked into the room and closed the door softly behind me I gently climbed into bed I put in my ear buds and turned on my iPod. I was listening to Slipknot, I leaned over and softly kissed Esmeralda's cheek she snuggled up beside me and draped her arm across me I was starting to fall asleep I turned off my iPod and laid it on my bedside table I wrapped my arm around Esmeralda and fell asleep.
