Chapter 48

{Chris's POV} 

I was getting Raven dressed while Esmeralda was still asleep, I sat down in the chair and gently rocked her and kissed her forehead I looked over at Esmeralda, she was starting to wake up she looked at me and smiled. 

"Aww you look sexy holding our daughter." 

"I thought I was always sexy." 

"I always think your sexy." Esmeralda said. 

"I am so ready to get out of this hospital and sleep in our own bed tonight." I said. 

I placed Raven in her car seat and buckled her in while Esmeralda was getting dressed, I grabbed my phone and put on my leather jacket when Esmeralda was finished getting dressed, I helped her put on her leather jacket I grabbed the diaper bag and Raven's car seat Esmeralda and I left the hospital room. Esmeralda and I stepped into the elevator I pressed the button for the main floor when we stepped out of the elevator I walked over to the front desk and signed Esmeralda out we walked out of the hospital and walked over to the SUV, I opened the backseat door and put Raven's car seat into the backseat I sat the diaper bag on the floor I helped Esmeralda into the backseat and closed the door. I climbed into the front seat and started the engine my cellphone was ringing I grabbed my phone and answered it. 

"Hi, mom." 

"Would you and Esmeralda like to stay here with me for a few days since Esmeralda just had a baby yesterday?" 

"Mom, Esmeralda and I would like to go home because we are both tired and would like to relax at home." I explained. 

"I understand call me if you need help." my mother said. 

When I got off the phone with my mom, I drove out of the hospital parking lot when we arrived home I parked in front of the house and killed the engine I climbed out of the SUV, I opened the backseat door and helped Esmeralda out of the backseat I grabbed Raven's car seat and diaper bag Esmeralda closed the backseat door. We walked up to the house I opened the storm door and unlocked the inside door Esmeralda and I walked inside the house I walked upstairs and walked into Raven's room I sat the diaper bag down and unbuckled her from her car seat I took off her jacket I picked her up and sat down in the rocking chair and gently rocked her. 

"Babe why don't you lay Raven in her crib so you can go get a shower." 

"I wanted to hold her for a little bit." 

"Raven isn't going anywhere I promise go get a shower and then go get some sleep." Esmeralda said softly. 

I got up from the rocking chair and gently laid Raven down in her crib Esmeralda and I left her room and walked into our room Esmeralda and I walked into the bathroom when we were finished in the bathroom, we crawled into bed Esmeralda snuggled up beside me I wrapped my arm around her, she laid her head on my chest I smiled at her and kissed her. 

"I love you and Raven very much." 

"Raven and I love you very much, too." 

Esmeralda and I fell asleep when I woke up, I heard Raven crying I gently climbed out of bed and quietly left our room I walked down the hall and walked into Raven's room I grabbed a bottle out of the diaper bag and made Raven a bottle. I picked Raven up out of her crib I walked back into mine and Esmeralda's room I sat down on the bed and fed Raven, her bottle. I looked over at Esmeralda, she was starting to wake up I looked at her and smiled Esmeralda sat up on the bed and kissed Raven's forehead. 

"Baby would you like to hold Raven?" I asked. 

"Yes, I would like to hold our daughter." Esmeralda replied. 

I gently laid Raven in Esmeralda's arms she smiled at her and kissed her forehead I grabbed my phone and took a few photos of Esmeralda holding Raven, I took a selfie with Esmeralda and Raven. 

"I can't wait to take Raven on tour with me when she gets a little older." 

"Don't worry her uncles, god father and you are going to spoil her to no end." 

"I plan on spoiling Raven because I have a feeling, she's going to be a daddy's girl." I said. 

"I know Raven is going to be a daddy's girl besides she is a spitting image of you Raven defiantly has your facial features but she has my jet-black hair." Esmeralda replied. 

Esmeralda took Raven back to her room I walked downstairs and walked into the kitchen I turned on the coffee pot I heard Esmeralda coming down the stairs I gave Binx and Creature food and water Esmeralda came into the kitchen she walked over to me and wrapped her arms around my waist. Esmeralda started cooking dinner I made Esmeralda and myself a cup of coffee later on that night Esmeralda and I were sprawled out on the couch watching TV, I grabbed my Tampa Bay Lightning blanket off the back of the couch and covered us up. 

"Happy Birthday, Chris." 

"Thank you, baby." 

"I'm sorry I didn't get you anything for your birthday." Esmeralda said somberly. 

"Becoming a father was the best present I could ever ask for and getting to hold Raven for the first time was totally worth it." I explained. 

"I wasn't expecting you to cry when you held Raven." 

"I knew you would cry the minute you held her but I was surprised that I cried when I held Raven too." 

Esmeralda laid her head on my chest she looked at me and smiled I smiled and kissed her I turned off the lamp Esmeralda turned off the TV and was listening to Florence and the machine on her phone and fell asleep I turned off the music and turned off her phone and fell asleep.
