Chapter 32

{Chris's POV} 

 I was in the kitchen turning on the coffee pot I felt Esmeralda wrap her arms around my waist I looked down at her and smiled she looked at me and smiled I scooped her up in my arms and kissed her. 

"Are you excited about tomorrow being Christmas?" I asked. 

"Not really." Esmeralda said. 

"Why do I get the feeling that your parents ruined." 

"Because you guessed right my parents ruined Christmas for me." 

I sat Esmeralda on the counter and handed Esmeralda, her coffee mug she looked at me and smiled I kissed her cheek after breakfast Esmeralda, and I were packing our overnight bags so we could drive to my mom's house. When I was finished packing, I put Binx and Creature into their pet carriers I grabbed my leather jacket out of the closet and put it on I grabbed my keys, phone, and wallet I grabbed my overnight bag along with the pet carriers and walked downstairs I left the house and put the pet carriers into the backseat along with my overnight bag. I walked back into the house and grabbed my Christmas presents for Esmeralda and walked back out of the house I put the presents into the trunk Esmeralda walked over to me I helped her put her presents into the trunk I closed the trunk and we climbed into the SUV; I drove away. 

"Baby, I am going to try my best to give you the best Christmas ever." I said. 

"Babe don't worry about it, it's no big deal." Esmeralda replied. 

When we arrived at my mom's house I parked in front of the house and killed the engine Esmeralda and I climbed out of the SUV and grabbed our belongings out of the backseat and trunk we walked up to the house Esmeralda knocked on the door my mom opened the door and let us into the house Esmeralda, and I walked upstairs to my old room we walked into the room and unpacked. I took my gifts for Esmeralda downstairs and walked into the living room and placed them under the tree I walked into the kitchen my mom was baking. 

"Christopher is Esmeralda, okay?" 

"Esmeralda's fine she's just not excited about Christmas because her parents always ruined it for her." 

"You too are made for each other because you're not a big on Christmas you love Halloween more." my mother said. 

"I don't know how to make sure she has a good Christmas." I replied. 

"You two could watch South Park holiday specials, or you too could watch The Nightmare Before Christmas." 

I heard Esmeralda coming down the stairs she came into the kitchen with Binx and Creature following her she walked over to me I wrapped my arm around Esmeralda's waist and kissed her she looked up at me and blushed. Esmeralda and I walked into the living room and sat down on the couch Esmeralda snuggled up next to me I wrapped my arm around her she laid her head on my chest.

"Baby, what would you like to do tonight?" I asked.

"I do have something in mind." Esmeralda said. 

"What do you have in mind?" 

"We could watch The Nightmare Before Christmas on TV together." 

"Christopher, Esmeralda dinner is ready." my mother called. 

Esmeralda and I walked into the kitchen and joined my mother at the table as we were eating dinner my brother Nick and sister Juliet came into the house, we heard them run upstairs to their rooms Nick and Juliet came into the kitchen and joined us at the table. After dinner Nick and I washed the dishes while mom hung out in the living room with Juliet and Esmeralda, I dried the last of the dishes and put them away. 

"Hey Chris, do you and Esmeralda cook?" 

"Esmeralda cooks a lot because I suck at cooking on the stove or oven I'm better at cooking on a grill. Why?" 

"I met a girl, but she can't cook at all." Nick said. 

"Bro it's not the end of the world I can't cook that good and Esmeralda still loves me." I replied. 

I left the kitchen and walked upstairs as I was walking up the stairs, I heard the song "Santa's Pissed" coming from my room I walked into my room Esmeralda was lounging on my bed listening to the song on her tablet I closed the bedroom door behind me and lounged on my bed with her. 

"Hi handsome." 

"Hey beautiful." 

When the song ended Esmeralda turned off her tablet and walked into the bathroom, I walked into the bathroom with her and ran her bathwater Esmeralda and I climbed into the bathtub she leaned over and kissed me. When we were finished in the bathroom Esmeralda, and I left my room and walked downstairs we walked into the living room and snuggled on the couch I wrapped my arm around her. 

"Babe are you excited about tomorrow being Christmas?" Esmeralda asked. 

"A little bit because I want to make sure that you have a good Christmas." I explained. 

I checked on Esmeralda she was starting to nod off I scooped her up in my arms and carried her upstairs to my room I walked into the room and gently laid her down in my bed Binx and Creature came into the room I closed the bedroom door and locked it. I climbed into bed Esmeralda snuggled up beside me I looked down at Binx and Creature they were curled up at the foot of the bed I turned off the lamp and fell asleep.
