Chapter 19

Alice’s POV

Okay, I just had a vision. I saw Bella leaving, and then it all of a sudden became black. I walked into the room, totally alarmed, and I opened my mouth. ‘Shhhhhhh’ I heard Emmett “say” with his finger in front of his mouth. Okay, Emmett was never very clear, but even I could understand that. ‘What’s going on, Edward, my son’ Carlisle said to the bump in the chair, that had to be Edward. He looked miserable and my fashion heart almost broke. I wanted to open my mouth again, to say something about his clothes, but Emmett made me silent again. Now, Carlisle turned to me. ‘What do you want to say, Alice?’ he asked. ‘I’ve been having a vision. I saw Bella leaving, and then it turned all black’ I said. ‘Do you know anything about this, Edward?’ Carlisle asked. Edward shrugged. He kept staring at one specific spot. I tried to find that spot, and then I saw that it was a footprint of Bella. ‘She’s gone, isn’t she?’ I whispered. Edward nodded. ‘Why?’ I asked, still whispering. ‘Does that even matters? She’s gone now, so can you all shut up, okay?’ Edward yelled, really mad, and ran upstairs. Wow, I couldn’t see that one coming! ‘What’s going on with our little Eddy?’ Emmett asked. ‘He’s depressed, in terrible pain’ Jasper said. ‘You think it is about Bella?’ I asked. He nodded. ‘I think so. He kept staring at her footprint, so’ ‘I saw that as well! Jazzy, everyone, we have to find out what’s going on’ I said. ‘Are you in?’ Emmett said, while putting one hand and arm in front of him. I laughed, and putted mine on it. When everyone had done that, we said: ‘Depression of Edward, you’re not safe for us!’

Edward’s POV

Couldn’t they just shut up? Couldn’t they see that I wanted to be alone? When I was in my room, I turned a chair to the window and sat on it. I just stared outside. Actually, I stared into the nothing. I knew that she was somewhere there, somewhere outside, too far away for me to get her. And even if I didn’t want to say it to my family, I wanted her to be here. I couldn’t live without her. She was the meaning of my existence. Why was she gone then? Because you’re a selfish ass-hole,  a voice inside my head told me. And I knew it was true. I’ve heard about books that had empty pages. I never understood why they where there, but now I did. I felt lonely, lonelier then I had ever felt. If I could cry, I thought I wouldn’t even do that. It felt like my head was filled with fog and I felt a big hole in my chest. I wanted to look down to see if it was really a hole, but I couldn’t. The fog was just too thick. So I stared outside. I watched the leaves falling from the tree, because it was the end of September. I watched rain falling down from the sky. I didn’t even heard my family coming inside the room. I believe they spoke to me, but I couldn’t listen. After an hour or 2, they all went away and I went on staring outside. I felt so miserable, and the hole in my chest was breathtaking. Not that I needed the air anyways, but still, it felt horrible. I wanted it to be done. Why was I still in this stupid live? All thoughts filled my foggy head.

Bella’s POV

‘I found a track!’ I yelled to the others. Within a second all the wolves were surrounding me. they all sniffed and nodded then. I smiled at them. ‘Shall we follow it, or shall one of us check if it’s a trap?’ I asked. Of course, no answer. Then I saw Sam moving his head to the trail. Like he said that I had to follow it. ‘Kay, see you in a while, guys!’ I said as I ran to the track and started to follow it. While I was following, I saw that the vampires still were making fake tracks. But after a few minutes I was already sure that this was the real one. I made the bird-like sound we practiced, and within a few minutes the wolves where by my side. ‘This is the real track. I know it for sure’ I said. They all sniffed and nodded again. ‘Let’s follow it’ I said. They nodded another time. We all started to follow the track. This time as a group. I looked around my during the running. I had to laugh a bit. You find out who your real friends are when you need them, my mother always told me. And my grandmother, with the story with the prince and the farmer. And the Cullen’s aren’t my friends, a voice in my head said. I was shocked by that thought. Weren’t they? I shivered at that thought. Imagine, an ice-cold vampire shivering! I laughed again. That looked obviously quite weird. I made my head empty and followed the rest. This was going to be a day just as the other days we were running, following Seth. But I knew, every minute we stopped running, that he went further and further. And I knew as well that soon, we would reach the sea. And I wasn’t sure how we were going to do that.

I heard something. As fast as I could I ran to it. When I was there, I saw a deer. I’d given myself already over to the nature, and I ran to the deer. I sucked the blood out, and laid the body on the ground. I looked around and saw another deer running away. I ran over to it and drunk from it. After doing this a few times, I was sure I had enough blood for a while. I ran back to the rest, which were planning to sleep soon. ‘Finally done with killing animals?’ Jake said with a teasing smile. ‘Yep, and you can be the next if you won’t stop acting like that’ I said with a mean smile. Jake’s face went scared. ‘If you bite me, I’ll die from the venom!’ he said. We stared in each other’s eyes and then started to laugh. ‘Is that a joke or so? Because I don’t really get it’ Quill said. I saw that Jake couldn’t stop laughing, so I tried to tell him what was so funny. ‘First of all, I would never bite any of you guys. And second of all, I’ll never bite a human. And third of all, did you see Jake’s face?’ I said as I joined Jake again in the laughing. Some of the wolves joined in, but of course, Leah rolled her eyes. Sam sighed. Then he said: ‘Guys, we should get some sleep. Tomorrow is going to be a long day. And the day after that as well. And the day after’ he said. ‘Get it, Sam’ I said as I jumped into a tree. From that tree I could see 100 meters outside the camp, on some points more. I watched everyone to get ready to sleep. A few minutes later, I heard some of them snoring. It was quite funny to see. I looked around, to meet the eyes of Leah, full of tears. She directly turned around her head, but I was sure I saw tears. There were a few options. Or, she cried about Sam, still. Or she cried about me being horrible. Or she cried about Seth. I thought that the last one was the most logical one. Then I remembered that Seth was her younger brother. I shook my head and focused on the area around me again, getting more and more sympathy for Leah.
