Chapter 35: the attack

Chapter 13

Esme’s POV

After Edward had called us, we of course followed him immediately. Whilst running to the place Alice had seen, Edward informed us about what was going on. What I understood from it was that Victoria was coming, with a whole army of newborn vampires, and she had Jacob on her side as well. Why he would do that was a question which was stuck in my head. ‘You’re okay, Esme?’ Jasper asked, whilst he slowed down a bit to run next to me. ‘Oh yes, just thinking for a bit’ I said. Jasper didn’t believe me, but didn’t say a thing. That’s why I love my kids so much. Well, they aren’t really my kids, but I think of them as my own children. They always understand what to say when. Well, Emmett doesn’t, but that is the amazing thing about Emmett. He always knows what he has to say at the right times, too. Of course, there will be some inappropriate things in between, but still.

We reached the open place, and we all stopped running. ‘I don’t see anyone! Where are they?’ Rosalie asked. ‘They are already here…’ Emmett all of a sudden said, in some kind of voice which freaked me out. Then, all of a sudden, he grabbed me, holding me in a position which would enable him to behead me any second. ‘I want you to hand me over Edward right now. If any of you resists, Esme here will die. No jokes. This is the real deal’ Emmett said. In fear, I looked up at my family. They were in shock. What the hell was going on with Emmett? ‘Come on Eddy, we have an appointment’ he said, looking straight into Edwards eyes. All of a sudden, Edward started to stumble, clenching his hands around his head. It looked like Jane’s power… The next second, Emmett let go off me, and Edward and he disappeared. The rest rushed over to me, to help me stand up. Which, in my eyes, didn’t make sense, since I was a vampire, but I let them help me anyways. ‘What is WRONG with him?!?!’ Rosalie thought out loud. ‘That’s something I’d like to find out…’ I replied.

Edward’s POV

What the hell was going on? Emmett threatened to kill Esme, now taken me and make my head hurt terribly. He had thrown me on the ground, and I had crawled back a few meters, before sitting up. I had tried to stand up and run, but Emmett had taught me that wasn’t smart… Also, whatever he did to my head felt like it was killing me. What does he want? But most of all… ‘WHY THE HELL ARE YOU DOING THIS, EMMETT?!?!?’ I yelled at him. He looked down at me, smirking. I looked at him in confusion. ‘You really think that Jacob bit you without a reason?’ he said. What did he mean with that? ‘Because he was mad at me for trying to safe Bella’ I said. He smirked again. ‘Yeah right’ he said. ‘What do you mean?’ I asked him. He ignored my question. It was silent for a couple of minutes. ‘Come with me’ he said out of nowhere. All of a sudden, my headache disappeared. I got up at vampire speed, and tried to run again. Emmett grabbed my arm with such a strong grip, that I thought he would pull off my arm any second. Gladly, he didn’t.  ‘Try that one more time, and you won’t be this lucky’ he said. And I knew he wasn’t bluffing. ‘Where are we going?’ I asked him. ‘You’ll see, you’ll see’ he replied.

Jacob’s POV

‘Come on guys! Hurry! If you won’t hurry, they’ll kill you in an instant!’ Victoria said. The vampires standing in front of her nodded, before turning around, facing the unsuspecting Cullens. ‘Mutt!’ Victoria yelled. ‘Yes Victoria?’ I asked as I walked over to her. ‘I want you to guard our special guest’ she said. ‘As you wish, Victoria’ I replied. Over the past couple of days, I had learned that no wasn’t an answer. Even though it was a bite that wouldn’t kill me, it did hurt like hel. I saw Emmett coming over to us, holding Edward Cullen. I wanted to yell at him in my minds, wanting to explain it all. But I couldn’t. Also, I was forced to keep my face straight. ‘Thanks’ I therefore just said, as Emmett handed over Edward to me. I shifted into my werewolf form, and looked at Edward. He looked back at me. If glares could kill, I would’ve dropped dead immediately. ‘IT IS BEGINNING!’ Victoria yelled. This was the sign. All the newborns started to take off to the Cullen clan. I had to warn them… I howled as loud as I could, hoping they were able to hear me.

Jade’s POV

As Alice came to warn the wolves, I got updated about the whole situation. How could Jacob do that? Ever since I had left Australia, or better said, ever since I had left Jacob in Australia, I had been feeling weird. He was imprinted on me. Did I feel something for him? NO, I kept telling myself. Darren has died just 3 years ago. I can’t just date someone else… “I love you, Jade. Always” still sounded in my ears. That’s when I realized that Alice was staring at me. ‘Staring isn’t polite’ I snapped at her. She looked at me, not even surprised. Of course not, Alice could see the future. ‘Let’s go!’ Alice said, before she started to run. Soon enough, she was out of sight. I sighed. ‘Follow me’ I said to the wolves, who clearly had no idea where she went to, and I started to run at a slow pace.

As I joined the Cullens, the wolves soon enough arrived after me. That’s when we heard someone howl. I looked up, to see newborn vampires running over to us. ‘It’s on’ I muttered under my breath. Carlisle looked at me. ‘You’re ready?’ he asked. ‘More ready than ever’ I replied. We took off, running for the newborns, ready to safe Edward. Wait a second, to safe Edward? I looked at the place I had heard the howling coming from, and I could see Jacob in his wolf form guarding Edward. Also, I saw Victoria. Then, they walked away, for some reason. But, I couldn’t focus on them too much, because the first vampires already were daring to attack me. Which, for your information, almost equals to suicide. Only difference is that I will kill you, instead of you killing yourself. Just so you’re warned. The first one tried to put his arms around my chest, to crush me and stuff. Cliché! I twisted his arm, turned him around and easily ripped off his head. One vampire down, some more to go.

Bella’s POV

What if I’m too late… No, I wasn’t allowed to think like that! I ran as hard as I could to the last place I thought they could possibly be. I entered the open space, and I saw I was right. I could see Jacob, Edward and Victoria. ‘Well, well, well. Who would have thought you would join us?’ Victoria said. I rushed for Edward, but Victoria jumped me instead. She pinned me to the ground, closing her hands around my throat. I could hear Edward resisting, and Jacob resisting that Edward would break free. Knowing that I wouldn’t have much time left, I looked Jacob straight in the eyes. ‘They don’t have Jade. She is safe’ I said. For a few seconds, his eyes were blank. The next moments, I had to look at Victoria, knowing these would be my last. Against all odds, Victoria all of a sudden got pushed off me. Edward rushed over to me, kneeling down. ‘Bella, are you okay?’ he asked me. ‘Yeah, yeah, I’m fine, but Edward…’ I wanted to say something, but my minds flipped as I saw him. ‘What Bells?’  Edward asked. ‘BEHIND YOU!’ I yelled.

Damn it has been long! And I am very sorry!

I actually wanted this chapter to be the end of Eclipse, but that would take me a lot longer to write. Now you all have a nice cliffhanger :P

Anyways, from the 15nd till the 22nd, I will be on a German exchange trip with my best friend FantasyGirl21. I hope to upload soon after that... Yeah, I'll try xD
