Three Days Later
Aria's Pov
"Aria, wake up." I feel someone gently shake my shoulder. I go to turn over and fall back asleep, but whoever's trying to wake me up is very persistent.
"What?" I groan, turning over to face Ezra.
"Get up, we're going somewhere." He says excitedly. I look at the clock, hardly believing the time.
"It's 4:45 in the morning Ezra!" I gasp "Go back to sleep, you're worse than the kids." I pull the duvet over my face, curling up in a ball.
"Hey," He pulls the blanket off me "No going back to sleep. I know it's early, but I want to take you somewhere."
"At 4am?" I question "The sun's not even up yet."
"Exactly." Ezra grins "Stop asking questions and get dressed, I'll go downstairs and make coffee." He climbs out of bed, still wearing only pajama bottoms.
"Wait!" I say, sitting up "Explain to me what's going on."
"I'm taking you somewhere, that's all you need to know." He replies, giving me a smile before opening our bedroom door.
"One more thing." I add quickly "If we're both going, who's gonna watch the kids?"
"Emily's on her way." Ezra tells me. I open my mouth to ask another question, but he leaves the room before I have a chance. I throw on the first things I see in my closet, before going downstairs to interrogate Ezra some more.
"Okay I'm seriously confused." I say as he pours coffee into a thermos.
"That's fine, just trust that I'm not psycho and that I planned this all out." Ezra replies.
"Where are we going?" I ask "And why did you ask Emily to come over to watch the girls at 4am?"
"You ask so many questions." Ezra laughs "You're such a Mom. Clearly we need more spontaneity in our lives."
"I just wanna know why we woke up at four in the morning on a school and work day." I say "And what exactly we're doing."
"All you need to know is that this is all planned out and our babies are going to be taken care of by one of your best friends." He reassures me "Emily's going to take Piper to school and stay here with Stella all day."
"Wait what!?" I gasp "How long are we going for? And you have work at nine!"
"I took a sick day." Ezra turns to face me "Now, no more questions."
"But—"
He places a finger on my lips "No more."
I sigh loudly before turning on the heat and flopping down on the couch, pulling a blanket over me. I listen to Ezra in the kitchen as he finishes with whatever he's doing, so many questions forming in my mind. Although at this early hour, it's easier just not to focus on them.
"Hey," Ezra says, walking into the living room "No falling back asleep."
"I'm not." I reply, rubbing my eyes.
"Good." He chuckles "Because we pretty much have to leave as soon as Emily gets here. You might want to get warmer clothes on."
