Aria's Pov

"I'm coming Bodhi, hold on." I sigh, walking over to my screaming newborn. I wince slightly as I bend over to pick him up; postpartum has been a lot harder this time around compared to my last two pregnancies.

I sit down and begin to breastfeed Bodhi, which today seems to be about the only time he doesn't cry. So far, he's been my fussiest baby.

I close my eyes for a few seconds as he happily sucks and swallows milk, happy for a moment of silence in my beyond-tired state. Twins are no joke.

Not a second later, I hear the start of Briar's high pitched cry. I let out an exasperated sigh, looking down at Bodhi peacefully at my chest and knowing that the second I stop feeding him, he'll start screaming again.

"Ezra!" I call, which startles Bodhi so much that he stops eating and starts crying.

"No no no I'm sorry buddy, it's okay." I try to get him to eat again, to no avail. Both babies cry loudly, and I start to feel guilty for Briar being all alone in the bassinet.

"Ezra I need your help!" I call again, getting no response. After a moment I take a deep breath and stand up, trying to ignore the pain as I walk over to my wailing daughter. I stiffly bend down to pick her up while cradling a screaming Bodhi in my other arm, not yet used to picking up two newborns at the same time. I very awkwardly make my way back to the rocking chair with both babies, both of them still in tears and me about to follow suit.

I try and pull my shirt down to start feeding them, although with both my arms full it proves to be quite difficult. As their crying grows more intense, so does my urge to burst into tears.

"Ezra!" I call once again "Can you please come help me?!"

There's no answer. With an exaggerated sigh, I prepare myself to get up to make my way downstairs, but right as I do, I hear footsteps coming up the stairs. I sit up as Ezra rushes into the room, eager to hand him one of our crying infants.

I exhale, relaxing a little already "Can you take Briar, she—"

Ezra cuts me off, his words leaving me in a stunned trance. The sound of my crying babies gets drowned out by a ringing in my ears, although his words replay over and over in my head.

"They found Piper."

Piper's Pov

I stare out the window of the cop car, the tears continuously pouring down my face. After the helicopter ride out of the woods, my ears still ring quite loudly. My heart pounds in my chest as we near the Rosewood Police Department, and I'm hit with the sudden realization that things are about to go back to normal.

Normal.

I'm not even sure what that word is going to mean anymore. Even before my kidnapping, things were far from normal; we were on the run from V, uprooted from our lives to escape something we weren't even entirely sure about. Now that it's all over, I'm having a hard time imagining how life will just continue on as if nothing had ever happened.

V's dead body flashes through my mind.

That's another thing holding me back from feeling normal again; the image of V's dead body, rummaging through her pockets to find the key, her skin already cold. Knowing that I killed her.

"Piper," The officers voice says softly, pulling me from my gruesome thoughts "We're just about there, honey." She has been overly-sweet to me, her voice always gentle and calm.

"Okay," I respond quietly.

We pull into the parking lot of the Rosewood Police Department, and I find my eyes searching around for something familiar. They land on a car—my parents car, and I suck in a sharp breath as tears spring to my eyes.

That's when I see them; wild, panicked, eager looks upon their faces, clasping each other's hands tightly. As I make eye contact with my Mom, she brings both of her hands to her face and starts sobbing. I do the same.

I start to feel lightheaded, my heart pounding in my ears and my legs going numb. Before I know it, the car door opens and I'm met with a rush of warm spring air. I blink a few times, my ears ringing as the officer helps me out of the car. I hardly even process what's happening until I realize that I'm engulfed in the middle of a tight embrace.

"Dad," I utter, the comforting and familiar smell of his cologne telling me that it's him before my eyes do.

"Mom," I sob, my face pressing against the soft material of her favourite blouse.

"Piper," My Dad cries "Piper we're here. You're here, you're really here."

I hold onto them tightly, squeezing my eyes shut as the world starts to dissipate around me. My legs shake and my stomach churns, and before I fully realize what's happening, I collapse against my parents as I lose consciousness.
