A Few Days Later
Aria's Pov

"Hurry up Stella," I say as I peek my head into her room "I said I'd drop you guys off by seven."

"I am hurrying," She replies, picking up her sleepover bag "I just can't find Guggy."

"Do you really need him, it's just one night at Auntie Hanna's." I sigh.

"Yes I need him!" Stella retorts "I can't sleep without him."

"Okay, I'll help you look then because we really need to get going." I say, walking fully into her room. Stella's had 'Guggy' since she was a baby—a stuffed frog that used to go everywhere with her although is now only really needed at nighttime. Although by my eight-year-olds still relentless devotion to her Guggy, I swear it'll be walking down the aisle with her.

"Here it is," I say as I pull the stuffed frog from between the bed frame and the wall.

"Yay!" Stella exclaims, running over to me. As I hand it to her, I can't help but frown at the sight of the slightly-messy stitch job around the neck from when Guggy's head was ripped off. Stella thinks Gatsby ripped it off when he was a puppy, but the truth is that a psychopath by the name of V cut it off. But that was years ago, and both the incident of the headless frog and V are nothing but a memory.

By the time I get downstairs, my own overnight bag in hand, Piper and Ezra are already waiting by the door. For the first time in a while, Emily, Hanna, Spencer and I are having one of our classic girls nights. Although now that three of us have kids, these nights require a bit more planning and energy in order to happen, so Ezra, Toby, and Caleb will be watching all the kids tonight. I keep joking with Ezra that they're having a slumber party.

"You guys take forever." Piper sighs.

"I have an excuse," I reply, pointing to my big baby bump.

"Stella doesn't." She retorts.

"I couldn't find Guggy." Stella whines.

"You're not a baby," Piper huffs "You don't need Guggy anymore."

"Piper," I cut in "That's enough. We don't need an argument right now."

"I was just saying." She mumbles, shoving her feet into her shoes.

I give my twelve-year-old a quizzical look "Not necessary."

"It's not necessary for me to have a babysitter, why can't me and Bella and Poppy just stay at our house tonight?" Piper groans "I don't wanna hangout with all the little kids."

"First of all, you're just gonna be in the same house as your Dad and uncles, you're not being babysat. Hang out upstairs if you really want." I tell her "Second of all, you've never stayed home alone overnight, and the first time will not be when you're twelve, give it at least another couple years."

"I wouldn't be alone I'd be with Bella and Poppy." She states.

"I don't know if that makes it better or worse." I admit "I do however know that you're going with everyone else to Auntie Hanna and Uncle Caleb's house, even if you don't want to hangout with anybody. Which doesn't really make sense to me considering you love every single person who'll be there."

"It's not that I don't wanna hangout with anybody, I just thought it would be fun if I could have a sleepover here with kids my own age." She says impatiently.

"Don't tell me you're already trying to throw a party," I joke lightly. Piper just looks at me with a pinched look on her face, before her expression softens and she responds in the lighthearted way I was hoping for.

"I don't even think I would want to go to a party let alone throw one."

"That's my girl," I smirk.

On that note, we all pile into the car and head for the Rivers' house. I go inside for a minute to say hello to everyone, and notice the already impressive array of junk food arranged on the counter. As long as I don't have to be here to deal with all six kids ranging in ages five to twelve on a sugar high, I don't really care what they consume tonight.

Once I say goodbye to everyone, I quietly slip away from what's undoubtedly soon to become some form of chaos. By the time I get to Spencer's house, Hanna and Emily are already there.

"It's about time," Hanna jokes as I walk into the house, giving me a one armed hug.

"Oh I'm not that late," I roll my eyes, looking at the drink in her hand "You're hardly even halfway through your first drink."

"Second," She corrects with a smirk.

"What'll it be Aria?" Spencer asks as she dances into the room "I've got orange juice, water, iced tea, and I think I've got some kind of cranberry cocktail, virgin of course."

I place a hand on my bump and laugh "I'll go get myself some of that cranberry cocktail."

"Nonsense," She waves a finger in the air "I'll get it for you." Spencer is out of the room before I can protest.

"I wish you could drink, Aria." Emily frowns, taking a sip of whatever's in her glass.

I glance down at my bump "I guess I'm automatically elected to be the Mom of the group tonight."

"Well technically all three of us are Mom's," Hanna jokes, smiling goofily.

"Ha ha," Emily rolls her eyes lightly, taking a sip of her drink.

"One cranberry cocktail," Spencer announces as she waltzes into the room "And one bag of chips. I have other snacks for later, don't worry."

"Thanks Spence," I say as she hands me my drink.

"No problem, is there anything else I can get you?" She asks.

"No I'm okay, thanks for your excellent hospitality though." I smile.

"Just looking out for you and my little niece and nephew." Spencer replies with a wink.

"Before you know it you'll get to meet your little niece and nephew," I widen my eyes at my own statement "We're hoping to make it four more weeks with them still in my belly, which it absolutely blows my mind that they could be here that soon. This pregnancy is going so fast."

"That's a good thing," Hanna scoffs "I'm pretty sure both of my pregnancies lasted about ten years each."

"I actually kind of like being pregnant though, and since this is my last pregnancy I thought I would get so caught up in enjoying it that time would pass so much slower." I reply "But it's been the exact opposite."

"You and Ezra have decided that you aren't having any more kids after this?" Spencer asks.

"Well could you imagine us with five kids, because I sure couldn't." My head nearly spins at the thought "And considering we have a pretty good chance at having multiples, I don't know if I'd wanna try for another after this if we could end up with more than one."

"That's fair," Emily nods "Going from four to six would be a big jump, especially considering you're going from two to four already."

"Saying it like that sounds so crazy," Spencer says "You're doubling the number of kids you have."

"Believe me I know," I gawk "I honestly don't know how we're gonna do it."

"You guys will do great, just like you have with Piper and Stella," She says promisingly "Think how scared you were to have a baby in high school, and then look how well you guys did with that. If you could do it then, you can certainly do it now, even if it is twins."

"That's an optimistic way of looking at it." I nod slowly.

"It's just the truth." Spencer smiles.

After a fairly lengthy game of truth or dare—and a spontaneous round of shots, excluding me of course—my increasingly drunk best friends decide that they absolutely need McDonald's. Luckily I'm sober, and after Hanna thanks me profusely for being so, we all pile into my car and head for the drive-thru. We blast music on the way there, singing along at the top of our lungs and reminding me of our carefree high school days. We were best friends then, we still are now, and we will be forever.
