One Week Later
Aria's Pov"The waitress must hate us." Emily snickers as the red-headed woman walks away from our table "There's so many of us." I look around at all the people at our table—well technically, two pushed together—and nod at the sizeable amount. Tonight, my friends and I all decided to go out for dinner with our kids at the Apple Rose Grille.
"Nah, we're a quiet bunch." Caleb shrugs jokingly, looking at Madden as he calls across the table to Stella "Okay, calm down bud." He chuckles, quieting his toddler.
"Do you have a little crush on Stella?" Hanna jokes, playing with Madden's hair.
"Han he's two, he doesn't even know what that means." I chuckle.
"Just joking." She rolls her eyes sarcastically.
"Mommy look!" Piper calls from the other side of the table. She has two straws tucked under her upper lip, and they stick out the way walrus tusks do.
"You're silly." I smile. Spencer nods in agreement from beside Piper, who she chose to sit next to, which isn't too surprising.
"Pipey help!" Stella yells to her older sister, picking up her straw "I do that too!"
"Shhh Stella, you have to be quiet." Ezra tells her "I'll help you with the straws." Stella giggles uncontrollably once the straws are placed in her mouth, and I quickly sneak a video and post it on my Snapchat story.
"Ok goofball, that's enough." Ezra laughs, taking the straws out of her mouth. Immediately, Stella starts whining as she reaches to have them back, crying tears that I know are fake.
"Come on Stell, don't start with that." I sigh.
"I want them!" She cries, pointing to the straws sitting on the table.
"How about you use the straw to drink your apple juice?" Ezra offers.
"No!" Stella pouts, reaching for the straws again.
"Hey Stella, do you wanna come sit over here with me for a bit?" Emily asks from a few seats down "You can sit right here on my lap." She stops crying for a moment, before nodding and climbing out of her seat.
"Thank you." I mouth to Emily.
By the time our food comes, the kids have grown restless. Although luckily, once their food is placed in front of them, they settle down and begin to eat. I let out a little sigh; taking young kids to restaurants is no joke. Glancing over at Ezra's pasta dish, I put down my veggie burger and pick up my fork, snatching a bite when he turns to help Stella with something. Hanna giggles as Ezra looks over at me quizzically, and I pretend to suddenly be interested in something over my shoulder.
"I've got two of these," Ezra points to Stella beside him "I practically have eyes on the back of my head."
"That's nice, so do I." I reply, acting oblivious.
"You can have more of my pasta if I can have some of your burger." He offers, ignoring my last statement.
"I'd love some pasta, it looks great." I grin.
"As if you don't already know." Ezra rolls his eyes lightly, smirking. I don't say anything, and instead pick up the fork and take another bite of his food.
