Aria's Pov

My eyes spring open, and immediately the event of the car crash comes rushing back to me. I start to breathe frantically as I realize I'm in a hospital room, the sound of a heart monitor the only thing I can focus on.

"Aria it's okay!" Ezra's voice says "You're okay!" I look around the room to see him sitting in a chair to the left of me.

"Ezra," I sob "W-what's...why am I-I—"

"Shhh, it's okay." He reassures me "Everything's fine. You got in a car crash, but—"

"The babies!" I cry "Ezra please tell me they're okay, that I didn't—"

"They're fine Aria, don't worry." He says calmly "Both of them are okay. You hit your head but other than that everything's fine, the doctor said it'll be sore for a few days, but it's nothing serious." I just nod, tears of happiness pouring down my face. Ezra gets up and hugs me, one hand on my baby bump.

"How did it happen? How did I get into the accident?" I ask "I remember going through the intersection and getting into a crash, but I don't know what I did wrong."

"It wasn't your fault baby, don't worry. When you were going through the intersection someone ran a red light and t-boned you. Luckily it was on the opposite side of the car that you were on, it could've been a lot worse." Tears spring to my eyes again, although I do my best not to let them fall.

"What time is it?" I ask.

"5:30 I think, or close to then." He replies "You were asleep for a little while."

"Where are Piper and Stella?" I continue.

"They're at Hanna's." Ezra says "She said she would bring them by when you woke up if you wanted."

"I'd love that." I nod "When can I go home?"

"The doctor wants to keep you overnight, just to make sure everything stays good with you and the babies." He tells me.

"Okay." I say in a small voice "Can you ask Hanna to bring the girls now?"

"Of course." He replies, grabbing his phone off the little table.

While I wait for Piper and Stella to get here, I lay back on the hospital bed and gently rub my baby bump. And after a few minutes, the babies' fluttery kicks can be felt.

"Ezra," I say softly "They're kicking right now." He lays down on the bed with his face near my belly, then places his hands on either side.

"More over here." I say, moving his hand a little. We both wait expectantly, small smiles on our faces. Finally, I feel a small kick on my left side of my belly.

"I felt that one!" Ezra grins, looking up at me excitedly "That was baby B right? Yeah, the one on the left is baby B, the boy."

"I can't believe we're finally having a baby boy," I say giddily "It's gonna be so different."

"Yeah, three girls and a boy." He continues "Little Ezra junior is so outnumbered."

"Don't call him that," I laugh "That's not his name."

"Well what is his name then? We've always been so good at choosing names, with Piper and Stella we did it before we even found out their genders." He says.

"I don't know, we still need to talk more about that." I shrug "We have an idea, we just haven't fully decided on names yet."

"I think it's just baby boy." Ezra replies "We were pretty set on our girl name."

"That is true," I nod "I think that name suits her, like it feels right, you know?"

"Yeah, I think." He chuckles "I don't really know her yet, at least not like you do, so I don't know if it suits her."

"Well she's been growing inside me for the past five months, so I guess it makes sense that I'm already getting to know her." I look down at my bump "But it does suit her, I just kinda know it."

"One name down, one to go." Ezra says excitedly.

There's a soft knock on the door, before it slowly opens and Stella's face peers into the room.

"Mommy!" She gasps, running into the room with Piper right behind her. They both clamber onto the bed despite Ezra's urging to be careful, although I don't mind one bit.

"Mom are you okay?" Piper sobs, tears pouring down her cheeks. Stella cries softly too, clinging onto me as if I'm about to disappear into thin air.

"Shhh it's okay, I'm completely fine." I reassure them "So are your little brother and sister."

"Then why do you have to be in the hospital still?" Stella asks, wiping her eyes.

"Well, they just want to make sure that nothing changes." I explain "You know, be very certain that nothing else comes up before they let me go. And they think it's good to give me a day of rest too, especially since I hit my head a little."

"If you come home tonight I promise you can rest still." Stella tells me "You don't have to get out of bed, we can bring everything to you. And me and Piper will make our lunches for school and remember to brush our teeth at bedtime every night."

"Stella that's very sweet, and if I could leave the hospital right now then I would. But they think it's best that I stay here for one night. When you get home from school tomorrow, I'll be there." I say.

"Okay." She sighs.

"It's just one night." I tell both her and myself "I'll be home tomorrow night to tuck you into bed." Both girls nod, cuddling into me somehow even more than they were before.

"No more tears," I say, trying to force back my own "Everything's fine."

"No it's not." Piper answers "And I'm staying here until you leave."

"Pipes, I know this is all upsetting, but when I say I'm fine I really mean it." I urge "And you can't spend the night here, but you do get to have a sleepover at Auntie Hanna's." I flash Hanna a quick smile.

"Yeah, it'll be lots of fun." She adds.

"But we have school tomorrow." Piper retorts, trying to find a reason that she'll have to stay here with Ezra and I "We can't have sleepovers on school nights."

"With your friends maybe, but we're family." Hanna says "Besides, Madden and Isla go to the same school as you, I'm already going there in the morning to drop them off." Piper just pouts, for once lost at words to get her out of a situation.

"Come on Piper, you always love sleeping over." Hanna says gently.

"But not today." She replies sadly "I wanna stay with Mommy."

"I know you do, but all she's going to be doing is laying in this boring hospital room anyway." Hanna half-jokes "We can call her before bed to check in and make sure everything's still going good."

"Okay." Piper agrees quietly after a moment.

I kiss the top of her head "I'll be okay, I promise."

They hangout at the hospital with me for another hour or so, before Hanna has to practically drag the girls off the bed. I tear up a little watching them go, although I don't let myself cry, because I know it would upset them even more.

"What do you want for dinner?" Ezra asks "I'm sure it's not hospital food."

"You've got that right." I reply "I could really go for a sandwich from Subway right now. Extra pickles."

"You got it." He smiles, standing up "I'll be right back."

While I wait, I lay in the silence and company of no one but the kicking babies in my belly. They always get really active at night, especially the baby boy. He moves around more in general than his sister, and as he's sitting lower than her, presses on my bladder quite frequently.

"You're so active right now," I coo, drumming my fingers over the left side of my belly "Are you getting hungry?" I continue to watch and feel his little kicks, waiting for my baby girl to join in.

"There's one!" I exclaim quietly, tapping the right side of my stomach. Soon, both babies are kicking equally, leaving me with the biggest grin on my face.

"I can't wait to meet you two." I say softly "I love you both so much already."
