One Week Later
Aria's PovI've been taking a lot of pictures this past week. I'd forgotten how much I loved photography, just something about being able to capture a single moment in time has always fascinated me.
My favourite muse now and forever will always be my kids, Piper in particular. Not that Stella isn't wonderful to photograph, it's just that sometimes, if you catch Piper in the right moment, her eyes almost give you a glimpse of her sensitive soul. She's always been a deep thinker, she's like her Dad in that way. And when you catch her in thought, you really realize just how much she looks like him too.
Today, I get the whole day with Piper, just me and her. I think we both really need it, especially after everything that happened last week. After she was untied and lifted down from the top of the statue, Piper was checked over by paramedics to make sure everything was okay. Other than some rope burn and a few bruises, she was fine. Once that was cleared up, we went back to the hotel and stayed the night before flying home the next morning.
"The birds found some chips, I think." Piper says, glancing at me before looking back out the window. I snap a few more pictures, answering her as I do.
"What flavour?" I ask.
Piper squints slightly "Dill pickle, maybe."
"That's Daddy's favourite flavour, you know." I tell her "Do you think we should go grab a few for him?" Piper just giggles, and my camera clicks away.
"I know," She says "It's my favourite too."
"Really?" I question, lowering my camera "I thought you liked salt and vinegar chips best?"
"Those too." Piper replies "And all dressed."
"Yeah, all dressed is good." I nod "Speaking of dressed, why don't you go upstairs and change into whatever you want to wear today. You wanted to go to the park soon, right?"
Her eyes light up "Yeah!" With that, Piper gets up from her chair and runs upstairs. I turn my camera off, only after quickly looking through some of the pictures just taken. Though I don't have time to look through them all at the moment, there are a couple so far that stand out to me.
