Thanks to Harry's constant nagging, I had managed to upload three new videos throughout the remainder of the week, and he would promote every single one of them. The majority of the comments were people encouraging me and others were of jealous fan girls wondering why I was getting so much attention from Harry. I couldn't blame them though, if I were in their place I'd be pretty upset too. But so far, I hadn't received any hate, besides from a few thumbs down... but that was to be expected.
Harry had mentioned meeting up a few times, and I would always make up some lame excuses on why I couldn't. It's not that I didn't want to meet him, because I really did, it was just that I was beyond nervous. So many questions roamed throughout my mind as I thought of the worst case scenarios. What if I'm nothing like he expected in person? What if he didn't like me as much after we met? I'm not one to put themselves down, but I know Harry has met tons of beautiful girls; and I know I'm nothing compared to them.
As the days progressed, Harry and I talked nonstop. From the time we woke up, till we fell asleep, our phones were attached to our hands. He would even send 'good morning beautiful' text messages. Which always earned a smile to creep onto my face. We had only known each other for a few days, but I feel like we've known each other forever. And that's why I finally agreed to meet him, as long as he brought the boys... and I could bring Ariana. He accepted the deal and we settled on meeting the upcoming Friday. Just four more days and I would be meeting one of my many inspirations. This was all too much to handle.
"Ariana, don't freak out... but we're meeting One Direction on Friday." I made sure to keep my voice lowered, in case any of my follow peers heard us. I wasn't the one for socializing with people, I hated it to be quite honest. Ariana and my grandparents... and Harry of course were the exception to the rule.
"Tatum, do not play games with me right now!" She pinned me against a locker, causing a few eyes to direct our way.
"I'm serious, Ari!" I wiggled my way out of her grip and kept on walking. She chased after me and her smile was a mile long.
"Pinch me, I must be dreaming." She fake swooned. I let out a hearty laugh before dragging her along to class. Which was harder than I thought, with her constant squirming and squealing. "How did you manage to get them to agree to meeting us?" She whispered, once we took our seats in the back of the classroom.
"Harry asked me..." I trailed off, remembering she didn't know I had his number. Her eyes practically popped out of their sockets when I said this. I could tell she thought I was kidding, just by the look she was giving me. I shrugged my shoulders, ignoring her as I directed my attention to the teacher.
It was finally Friday, and I was even more nervous than I originally thought I would be. I didn't know what to wear, I didn't know what I was going to say when I saw them, I didn't know anything. And that's what scared me. I hated not knowing things. The only thing I was certain of was that the One Direction were going to be in my house, in less than an hour.
Once the realization that the boys would be here any minute, I quickly began to raid my closet. I wanted to appear as if I hadn't taken much time to get ready... I didn't want to appear eager. I ended up throwing on a pair of cameo leggings, a black v-neck, and all black converses. As soon as I finished pulling on my last shoe, the was a knock on the door.
"They're here. Remember, be cool." I warned Ariana, who was already squirming around on the bed.
She shot me a glance, "I got this." We both simultaneously strolled down the staircase. Both of us took a deep breath, before I yanked open the front door.
I was greeted by a cold gust of wind, and five insanely gorgeous faces. We stood there for a good minute before Harry's voice broke the silence, "Well, aren't you gonna let us in, love?" His voice snapping me out of my trance, I quickly nodded my head. I pulled the door further open and they all filed in, one after the other. As they made their way to the living room, Ariana and I stayed back and slightly squealed at each other. We quickly regathered ourselves before following the boys.
"So, what's the plans for today lads?" Louis asked before plopping down on the sofa. I glanced around the room, waiting for someone to speak up. When no one did, I opened up my mouth to speak. But was quickly cut off by Harry.
"We could grab something to eat and then maybe head over and talk to Simon?" He questioned me with those adorable emerald green eyes of his. I nodded my head, all of this was still so unreal. And my lack of social skills were definitely showing.
"Where did you have in mind to eat?" I finally spoke up, I scanned the room and locked eyes with Harry.
He shrugged his shoulders, "I don't know, I didn't think that far ahead." He grinned, causing me to almost melt. His dimples were evidently visible. He seemed to notice the rosy color of my cheeks, because he smirked. His eyes scanned my body and I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable. I turned my attention to anyone but him.
The awkwardness in this room was at an unbelievably high, and I hated it. Why was I so god damn antisocial? Ariana had already become quite friendly with Zayn. And that left me alone with four boys that I've always dreamt of meeting, and here I am screwing it up.
I inhaled deeply, I had been talking to Harry nonstop for the past two weeks. So why was I acting so shy around him now? "Does anyone have any ideas on where we should eat?" I questioned everyone, who had involved themselves into a conversation already. This is my house and I still managed to feel so out of place.
"Can we just get in the car and drive around until we find something? Because us sitting here talking about food isn't helping to quench my hunger." Niall jumped up from his spot in between Liam and Louis.
"But if wer-" Louis began to speak before Niall turned around and glared at him.
"Just get in the damn car." Niall stated, already halfway to the front door. We all stared at each other before following him. Considering the capacity of the car was only meant for five people, Ariana and I had to sit on one of the boys lap. I gasped as Harry hurriedly pulled me onto his lap.
"Hey gorgeous," His husky voice whispered into my ear as I settled comfortably on his lap. I gave him a small smile before focusing my gaze out the window. "Why are you being so quiet?" He spoke softly so the others wouldn't here, not like they would've anyway considering how loudly they were talking.
I shrugged my shoulder, "I'm not a very social person..." I trailed off. My dad dying had really taken a toll on me, which is the main reason I'm so closed off. He was my best friend, aside from Ariana.
"When we're done with you, we're probably gonna wish you were still antisocial." He cheeked at me. I grinned at him, before shifting around in his lap again. I just couldn't seem to get comfortable. My mind was still trying to fully grasp the concept that I was in the same car as One Direction and that I was sitting on THE Harry Styles lap. And if I were to tell anyone this, no one would believe me. That's why I had to keep this on the down low. At least until I know for sure I'm getting signed.
Considering no one knew what they wanted to eat, we ended up at McDonalds. The boys pulled their hoods over their face, instructed us to keep or heads down, before we made our way into the restaurant.
We were welcomed by a gust of warmth when entering the building. A few heads seemed to turn towards us as we walked towards the counter. But no one seemed to acknowledge just who they were. And for that, I was thankful.
I must of spoken too soon, because the reaction of the young cashiers face was priceless. Her mouth gasped open and she was flailing around trying to remain upright. It was quite comical, really. Ariana and I turned around to control our laughter as the boys just stood their chuckling. "Hello love," Zayn greeted the girl, who's name tag read Alice. She squealed before asking for a picture. They quickly told her yes, before standing around the counter. She pulled her phone out of her apron and handed it over to Ariana, she didn't seem too pleased when she realized we were with the boys. She glared at us until Ariana shouted, 'say cheese'. Alice snatched her phone out of her hand and gawked at the picture, I swear I saw 50 shades of red flash throughout Ari's eyes.
The total amount of our order was a little bit over 50 dollars, and more then half of that was Niall's food. Alice sent Ariana and I death glares all the way out of the door. "That bitch is lucky I didn't wanna cause a scene or else my ass would've been over that counter beating the living shit out of her." Ariana stated as we all settled back into the car.
"She seemed nice." Liam shrugged his shoulders a little.
"Yeah, to you guys! She was like mentally killing Tatum and I." Ariana shoved a few fries into her mouth. "And maybe, if Harry's arm wasn't around Tatum the entire time she probably wouldn't have felt as jealous." She smirked over at Harry and I. My cheeks instantly flushed red and I covered my face with my hands. Harry bursted in laughter as he pulled me closer to him.
The warmth of his arms around me was quite captivating; like I could stay here wrapped in his arms forever. But sadly, moments after we had all finished our food, we pulled up in front of a large building. I gazed up at it in amazement as Harry grabbed a hold of my hand to help me out of the car. His arm laced around my waist and I blushed a little. "No reason to be nervous, love." Harry spoke up, clearly taking notice to how tense my body was. Taking a deep breath, I tried to relax my body. "Much better." He tickled my sides, causing a giggle to escape my lips and me squirming around in his arms. He chuckled before pulling open the large glass door.
"You go first," I smirked at him.
"No, why?" He laughed, still holding onto the door.
"Because I don't want you staring at my ass, that's why."
"I'll cover my eyes." His hands raised over his eyes and I just chuckled. I hurriedly walked into the building and turned around to wait for him. "Nice ass." He whispered into my ear as he looped his arm around my waist again. The closer we got to Simon's office, the more my nerves grew.
"Well, this is it." Niall hammered against the door, before barging in.
Simon looked up from his computer and looked at everyone once, before turning his attention to Harry and I. "You must be Tatum."
