Again I saw the blonde haired boy, again petting the dark cat. his eyes were a bright blue, they twinkled as they fell upon me. I turned away and was eyeing a target in the sky, a bird, who soon came spiraling to the forest floor.
The dark cat ran to retrieve it, he was very loyal, much like fluffy. The boy clapped and said something, but once again I couldn't hear.
He tried and struggled to start a fire, it's not really a skill of a priest, survival. Eventually I grew sick of seeing the discouraged frown on his face and motioned for him to stand back, far back. I shot an explosive shot and within seconds a large, smoldering fire sat before us.
He praised me yet again. I was closer to the explosion and suffered a burn in my left arm. With a wave of his hand the boy made the burn disappear. I thanked him, wondering if he couldn't hear me, as I couldn't hear him.
Things began to shake again and I awoke to General Goraff vigorously trying to wake me up. "SAERAH! SAERAH! ON DECK KID!!!"
"What!?" I asked, upset I had been awakened from my nap. Perhaps if I knew who I was talking to, I could make sense of the dream and use it to my advantage. No doubt it was taking place in Pandaria.
"You might want to take a look above deck. It's a bloodbath beneath us. You need to see it." He made his way up the steps, his quirky spirit faded, I guess he saw whatever was beneath us as another failure at his hands.
I too made my way above deck, packing the blanket, bread, and lantern in my bag. As I climbed the stairs blinding daylight made it hard for me to see. I closed my eyes and opened then to adjust to the light and joined Goraff at the vessel's edge.
We were very fortunate we weren't on that big zeppelin now, or we both would be dead. An alliance base, a big old castle, right in front of us. Hundreds of horde men, dead on the ground. They had cannons.
We slowly drifted toward Hellscream's first, which was still standing, fortunately. As deckhands helped us board we were greeted personally by General Nazgrim.
"Greetings General. And look who has returned! Speaking of the devil, why, it's my trusty marksman! Your secret is safe here, I assure you. half these men are for dead as of now." A grim smile spread across his mint green face, it could not hide the defeated look in his eyes.
"No time for reunion, General, what's your plan on the situation?" I asked impatiently, "It seems all attacks on foot have failed miserable, sending another troop would be to our own demise."
"Still strategic I see, that's what I was hoping I could find in one of these men. Glad to have you aboard. How's your shot today?"
"Itching for some action, gotta be more carful with what I wish for. Why?"
"Maybe, just maybe if we sent a decoy troop, we could sneak you to the base front, clear the cannons and I'll send backup to secure the base."
Anyone else would have bluntly said 'no', but I knew the sacrifice would not be in vain.
"Sir, you're crazy! But that's why Garrosh sent you, you're far from a coward, my friend. Prepare a rope and your wish is my command."
"NEXT WAVE!!! ROPE ON THE SIDE OF THE SHIP!!! KEEP IT CONCEALED!" he barked.
"Some introduction on my behalf," complained Goraff, "So you're not new to this, huh? I knew my finding was too good to be true."
I shook my head at the disappointed orc."No time to feel sorry for yourself, general! Get to a post and help. General Nazgrim is top dog here." I warned him, knowing Nazgrim would not tolerate self pity, especially from someone who shared the same honorable rank.
The lower deck was buzzing with action, soldiers departing to join the fight, and goblin engineers working feverishly to repair the damaged airship. Wrenches flew through the air, I did my best to stay our of their path.
I made my way to my designated rope, tied nice and tight, far from the others. I watched as Nazgrim's men made their way to the forest floor. Did they know they were basically commuting suicide?
Aware of it or not, they did not fear death. Evident was the most wonderful trait of an orc, honor.
A jumped off the edge with my rope tied tightly around me. I asked the Earthmother to give the others strength.
Before I hit the ground, I let out a loud yell, "FOR THE HORDE!" in attempt to life the dying soldiers spirits, just on last time.
"FOR The..." a soldier bellowed in response, interrupted by an explosive ripping him to bits.
It wasn't the smoothest landing, I ended up falling on my back. The stench of Orc blood filled the area. A few wild cats roamed aimlessly, scared by all the action.
The cats looked like the ones from the dream, my dreamscape companion. Where was my real companion? Oh, no! Fluffy wasn't on the ship. This is bad, I couldn't simply take the base without him. The situation had turned vain.
One of the frightened cats seemed to have taken a liking to me. It rubbed against my leg, purring. Perhaps I would have to improvise with the cowardly cat.
"How would you like to be my new best friend?"
She meowed in response. I searched deep within my memory, trying to remember the charm to tame a beast. It had been so long since I had used it last, I was only a little girl, just learning how to shoot a bow when I made fluffy my lifelong companion.
I look deep into the beast's eyes, starring at my own reflection. I whispered the charm, or at least what I thought it was.
The cat suddenly snapped out of its cowardly form and began to scratch at me halfway through. I restrained from shooting and endured the pain, to ensure I wouldn't kill it. When I was done she froze and came to my side, aware, unlike the others, but still meek.
"Lets hope you can fight..." I didn't know how to address her. I needed a name, something fast, no time to mull it over. She was all black, the shade of a raven, "Raven it is." Not an amazing name, but it would do it's part.
"Lets go kill some alliance, Raven."
