(Saerah)
I haven't gotten much sleep recently, coping with the battle preparations we were making and my double life as a human. I've been spending my evenings with Kiryn, who I now coincided my friend.
I love her stories. She tells me about her friends and what rebellious teens they were, always bringing havoc upon her poor father. She says I remind her of her best friend. She told me much about her, too.
Our little "slumber parties" as Goraff calls it, are actually quite fun. Despite strategizing on what to say when I visit our captured prince, the rest is just the two of us enjoying ourselves. It's strange to say, but I never thought I'd find braiding hair such fun. I had tried it when I was younger, the style that most Tauren girls wear, but I hated them.
From what I've learned, Anduin does not fight, but whatever he did to my arm, well, that was amazing. He'll actually come in handy while exploring, I no longer had to be over cautious.
It saddens me, though, that I must "free" him and miss out on the first true battle. I craved a battlefront, some action once more. Solo missions weren't nearly as fun.
I wonder, though, if the prince knows anything of this land he hasn't shared with me yet. It would certainly be of use. Perhaps he has passed by roads or villages in the opposite direction. That'd be a good start. The temple disciplines were too concentrated on their tasks and training to mind me, let alone share some of their history. No, we would need to search for someone wise and patient to bring clarity to this land.
The others have been working around the clock to prepare for battle. I have no idea what we're up against, but I have high hopes for the battle. Nazgrim is a natural leader, you'd be a fool not to respect his will. I could see it in his grey eyes, the outcome, and it was victory.
I'm disappointed that I once again have to sit out from all the action and serve as a royal escort. The wimp will probably change his mind one day in and have me take him home, where I will be disregarded. He seems friendly, yes, but also smart. Sheer mind games, he was playing the same game as I, getting me to like him so I'll set him free.
We have not credited the prince enough, these are tell tale signs of a potentially skilled war leader. When his cunning mind takes the place of Varian's iron fist, the Horde best be prepared.
That is, if I allow it.
The Hozen have armed themselves, now looking more like rational humanoids than savage beasts. The archers I couldn't be more proud of. They are good students and fast learners. I never desired to train, and hit a streak of luck with having unusually gifted students. They now hit their mark at least half of the time.
I'm tempted to write a letter to Baine on our progress. He can be such an old bull at times, lacking the exhilarating thrills of life which I have enjoyed. He often jokes of how I'd hate it to be him, how leaders are not supposed to be on the front line, putting themselves in jeopardy. He'd never tell you, never tell me, no need, I can see it in his eyes, he loves the front line. Almost as much as I do, it's where he's at his happiest.
There is no time for it nowadays, though. Even off he could make time, something would come up. There was one thing more dear to him than protecting his people, and that was his people themselves. No one loves us Tauren more than Baine, he'd go to unbelievable heights to be sure every mouth was fed, and he did.
Compassion, a trait of a true leader, something my friend did not lack.
Shokia had been training with Rivett in the clearing below. Rivett has met a new level of engineering success. These grenades he made, they executed damage at an extreme force, enough for me to thank the Earthmother we were on the same team.
