They Dont Care About Our War

"So what do you suppose our next move should be?" I asked Nazgrim.

"I don't know, so many men lost! The alliance are far ahead of us. Know that I will not give up though, I will fight side by side with you, as we did with the sha, until we win this war or die in the process. Someone had to survive this mass murder. I say we find them. Our priority, though, is to win the favor of this village, we are short on manpower and need a safe place to tend to the wounds of any injured we can find- if any. I need you to speak with their leader, ensure they are with us. If they aren't, then we must assume they are against us."

Huh? Why was I the one ensuring peace? I wasn't even the leader, and my diplomatic knowledge was very poor, I'd make a fool of myself. "Why me?"

"One of my most trusted engineers, Rivett, also chef on the zeppelin you took to Orgrimmar, wouldn't shut up on your skills with people. You brought a tired crew of goblins together and in hours they went from not knowing you to being very fond of you. I myself am not the best with people, I value strength, not reason. you, on the other hand, appear to be naturally likable, I can't risk losing this village. Keep your bow ready, we don't know what to expect." He said dryly. I really hoped there would be no hostilities, I didn't have the patience for any disagreement right now, and I, in fact, even after my nap, was exhausted from destroying an alliance base only to have sha infest it. I was also a bit nervous, I was edgy today, not the friend making girl I was on the zeppelin to Orgrimmar.

"Great. And if they side against us?"

"Hellscream will want your head and we will have to search the jungle for someone who will fight in the name of the Horde."

"I see, duck!" I yelled, Nazgrim obeyed, avoiding a nasty scar on his face. The sha infested tigers seemed to now be no different from the sha themselves.

"Die you scum!" He shrieked, voice cracking slightly. Perhaps he too was as tired and anxious as I was, or maybe just the new authority made him this way. Whatever it was, Nazgrim was much stricter than I remember him being fighting the naga, tougher, too. His armor, once mix matched cloth and leather, had upgraded to a nice plate set that shone in all colors of the Horde. The axe was new, it was rather big for an axe, and from what I can tell, much more deadly.

I didn't even have to raise my bow, a few swings of his mighty weapon and it lay in pieces. I pulled out my pocket knife, it came second nature, something out of my power to control. "What are you doing?"

"Skinning, if the villagers are hostile, I can make a shelter out of it, if not, I can sell it for a good amount of silver for supplies." I mumbled, paying close attention to removing the hide, "You chopped it too much, next time be more careful." The outcome wasn't pretty, but would still sell, just for less than what I had hoped for.

"Come on kid! I can see the village gates. We must show them the Horde is true to their word and move with speed and determination." I rolled my eyes. It's like every other word that came out of his mouth was scripted.

"Who-who's there?" asked a shakey accented voice. The entrance of the village was blocked with pretty much anything and everything you could think of. A handful of poorly armed farmers stood guard, protecting themselves with little more than pitiful pitch forks. "I'll protect my wife and kids, to the death!" Another added, trembling in fear. "Stay away from us, I-I'll use this If I have to." A man that appeared to be a baker threatened, swinging a flour sack that appeared to have a heavy rock in it. I understand their fear for their family's saftey after the events they saw today, but fear for us? I had my bow tucked behind my back and both hands in the air, I even wore a warm smile on my face. What could they possibly... Nazgrim.

I elbowed him, hard. "Stop being a brute, get out of attack position, put your axe away, and stop showing your teeth! The damn cat knows better." I whispered. He obeyed, putting on the biggest fake smile I ever did see. "We come in peace." I projected, "I bring goods to offer." I did not plan to gather supplies for the village when I raided alliance stockpiles earlier, it was purely selfish intent, but if I've learned one thing about friends, they are quickly made by giving gifts.

"Let them through."

There were few buildings in the village, it seemed meals were eaten outdoors here judging by the scattered tables and benches. Made sense, the climate was fairly nice, yet humid. A handful of children were at play, running around under the watch of their angry mothers, pleading they come inside. A bulky man stood next to Taran Zhu, he was dressed in finer clothes than the others. He could only be, ah, yes, the mayor. A sight for sore eyes. I bowed in his presence, hoping Nazgrim would catch on and follow, but he just stood there dumbly, starring into space. The mayor seemed pleased by my actions and turned to Taran Zhu, nodding, gesturing slightly at me, I wasn't supposed to notice.

"I travel light, but I bring a decent amount of cheese and tea for the trouble we have caused your village. Times are dire for us, that zeppelin you saw crash? I'm afraid me and my friend were lucky enough not to be on it at the time. The number of survivors may be little to none. We need your help fighting of the evil that is the alliance, we have fought your 'sha' until none remained, we ask for help. Fight with us, the Horde, we are the good of Azeroth. I also ask you allow us to regroup here, by the looks of the crash there won't be much to regroup, are you with us?"

The mayor shook his head, "Your fighting has brought much destruction to our tiny village! We have no interest in war, but we will not turn the injured away." He held out hid fury paw to shake, I held out my three fingered hand, for a moment he nearly stumbled backwards in horror, maybe thinking I was a freak, but eventually shook it.

Nazgrim was boiling over the edge. "You saw them shoot us OUT OF THE SKY! My men, hundreds of them, dead! HOW CAN YOU REMAIN NEUTRAL!?" he took an angry step forward, stomping the ground. A few villagers gasped. I held out my arm to push him backwards, now seeing why I was put in charge of the friendship making. If I wasn't, we may not have been alive right now, or at least had another thing on top of the alliance to worry about, the natives.

"Your champion is wiser than you are. The Pandaren have no interest in your war, regroup, go home, before your own lives are the one's lost. In have other things to take care of, but please, be careful in this land, it is heavily impacted by negative energy. As you experienced today, the sha are no laughing mater, make peace or leave with your lives. You've been warned." And on that note the shadow pan leader left us in a village of curious eyes, all on us, as ours were on them.

"Catch your breath, hunter, we can only spare a few minutes here, our friends may only have that much to live if we don't get out there!"

"Yes, sir..." I mumbled, collapsing on a log bench. I should have gotten more sleep last night. Thanks to Baine and his stupid worries, which he turned out right, I could fall asleep right here, right now. A little Pandaren girl came and sat at my side, I gazed at her, curiously. she was soon joined by a friend, he held three cups in his hand.

"Papa noticed you looked tired." she chirped, "So he made you a brew to wake you up. I promise it's good, he is the local brewmaster." The little boy slid me a cup.

"Huh, thanks."

"You look like a cow."

"You look like pandas" the giggled, starring at me with bright eyes.

"You're a pretty cow, though, not like our cows, our cows are smelly." The little boy told me.

I smiled and sipped the liquid in the cup. In has a peachy flavor, and something about it made my jumpy, it was energizing. Just what I needed.

"Tell your papa he's smart and your mama you're safe, because I'm protecting you."
