(Saerah)
I'm quite surprised on how the canoe ride went, yet, I shouldn't have been. Wrathion and Anduin have a quite different definition of "danger". I had grow so used to the prince's caution, that I had not heeded Wrathion's well given warning.
Hozen, hundreds of them lined the pass. They definitely weren't the Hozen we had come to know. They're crazed, and know how to aim, might I add. Goraff made makeshift shields for the two of us out of the wood that makes up -made up- the seats. His right arm is going to need some medical attention, but for every drop of Orcish blood spilt, there were three Hozen casualties.
Now we were standing on Binan Village soil, and yes, it is Binan, the 'n' had all but faded from my aging map. At our feet were drifters, homeless and hungry, refugees who had fled their homes. The cries of battle could be heard in the distance, and a few steps closer you could even see it.
The smell, I'm surprised they could stand it. It was a scent despite all experience one would never grow used to. Blood, and the stench of rotting corpses.
Horned beasts, similarities in looks to my people could be seen, but that's as similar as we got. They were visions warriors, hacking and throwing their way closer and closer to the village. Who was fighting? Brave volunteers, they had never seen war, and were determined they weren't going to just yet.
"They come from Fire Camp Ordo." The heavy Pandaren next to me spoke. I snapped to attention, realizing how long I was just starring at the action. "We don't know why they attacked, they just did. These poor souls lost their homes and loved ones and have fled here, where we all have been cornered." He cleared his throat and looked with dreary eyes upon his kin, gathered in the dirt, making shelter out of whatever they found lying around.
"The pass is to small for anything larger than a paddle boat..." I muttered, coming to realize how grim things were beginning to look.
"Even if it were larger, it's to dangerous. We can't expect citizens to be alright if warrior are proven mortal." He gestured to Goraff, who was being bandaged.
"There must be a reason. My name is Saerah, and I come from a land far away. I offer myself, to ward off these barbarians. Something's fishy about this, and I'm going to get to the bottom of it." Have the Alliance formed a partnership with them? It seemed quite unlikely, considering how they look down on all those beneath them. Yet, I felt this had ties to Horde and Alliance both, ties to our war.
"Is there anything you can do? I'd be saying your goodbyes, there is little hope." A tear trickled down his cheek as I grabbed my bow and arrow.
"Yes, hope is not lost yet, just hang tight."
The arcane dancers between my fingertips, it had a beautiful purple glow, yet it was so deadly. The Ordo didn't even see me coming, neither did I. Shoot, hit, move on, that was my mindset. My heart was to the homeless, now fearing they would be lifeless, people who had fled to this small town. It was not built for war, much like camp Taurajo.
I could hear bone chilling shrieks of pain from both sides of the battle, it seemed to be in an endless stalemate . An axe flew at me, and I blocked it with the heavy armor on my wrist. "This is war, Sarah." The girl Anduin wanted me to be would be short an arm right now, and I doubt a priest could fix something that extreme.
I pulled it out and sent it flying at the attacker's head. His reaction was, clever, not only avoiding it, but catching it. He let out a beastly roar and spoke in his native tongue, no doubt foul language was used.
The Pandaren slowly began regaining the front, now evenly matched, if not outnumbering their opponent. Ordo were dropping at my feet. My allies may be inexperienced common-folk, but they fought with courage. They knew what was worth fighting for, their family, their home, and most of all peace.
