Chaos

Chaos, everything was chaos. The roars of the Hozen thumped through my mind like the beat of a drum. It was loud, constant, and giving me quite the headache. Some jumped on my cage, rattling it, either drunk or just enthusiastic, I couldn't tell.

A battle was on the horizon, and there was nothing I could do to stop it. Were they mad? Cheering and screaming as they were lead to what was to be, no doubt, a bloodfest? An inane outburst if you ask me, and it certainly was to the dismay of their general, who was working tirelessly to ease his men.

Shokia had gone off to join the rest, leaving me alone with some of the unruly men. I almost wish she were back, even though she scare me half to death. No, that's a lie, she did much more than half, nearly blew me to bits yesterday. I'm lucky the 'kid' was around, still didn't catch her name, or I'd be a goner. She appears to be a lover of nature and all in it, a Druid if I had to guess, a shame she can't speak common, or I might have been able to convince her this was wrong. I wonder why she is here, she seems very gentle, the kind of girl that would cry over a shattered glass. I' feel somewhat fulfilled once I had learned all there was to know about each member of their team.

I fear what will happen next, I'll likely be put on a leash and dragged along, perhaps become a human shield, the endless possibilities made me sick to my stomach. Not that there was a lunch to lose, I haven't seen my hunter girl in a while.

Thinking about her takes away my worry for myself and directs it toward her. That undead is sneaky, perhaps she got caught. It saddened me to think she could be dead and it'd be all my fault. 'I'll rescue you when the time is right.' her words echoed. And when would that time be, after the battle? Is she assuming they will all die in combat. She began to seem all very lucid to me, like a spirit, perhaps also fallen prisoner to the horde in this very cage, only suffered a less desirable fate. It made sense, after all, she seemed to appear out of nowhere.

I picked up a pebble and tossed it as far as I could. The Hozen were beginning to clear, followed by a loud bellow from Goraff to signal final role check. I picked up another pebble, tossing it a few yards short of the last.

"Oww." spoke a familiar disembodied voice. "If you knew I was there, wouldn't 'hello' have been a better greeting."

"Sorry, didn't see you."

"Good, you aren't supposed to. The other night you had me thinking you had freak vision." Said Sarah, appearing before me.

"No, I just felt a presence. What brings you here in the day?" I asked, mentally ruling out the spirit factor. An illusion due to lack of water was more like it, I was likely talking to a forest critter.

"For a smart one, you sure are slow. The Horde is busy, Hozen gone- not that they are the ones who consern me, It's time."

"Really?" I asked, surprised, "So soon, I mean, won't they come back for me?"

"The Horde are good at pre battle preparations, but in that time their minds tend to shut out non related details. In other words, they are just going to leave you here."

"Well I'm glad you ran into me, or I'd be here for a while."

"Agreed, a victory will not come easy on this one. The Alliance have men, but after the crash, I suppose they will assume the Horde is the lesser, bringing fewer men."

"Wait... you didn't see?"

"See what?"

"Our ship crashed as well. If fact, after the toll the Horde did on our airbase, I'd say we are equally matched."

She seemed surprised by this. "I'll return in ten with Raven, be ready." She said, returning to the shadows.
