Pinatawag lahat ni Mr. Villamayor matapos ang nakita niyang yun.
Ngayon ay nandito kami sa isang kwarto. Nandito lahat ng anak niya, pamula kay Knox hanggang kay Bran. Nandito din si Nero.
Pero nakakapagtaka talaga ang Nero na yan. How can he still manage to plaster such sarcasm into his face? Aren't he supressed by his father's presence? Kakaiba talaga siya. He's such a creep.
"Now that you're all here. I just want to tell you something..."
Nakatuon ang lahat sa sasabihin ni Mr. Villamayor. Ni isa ay walang nagsasalita.
"Kids, I've missed you all!" masaya niyang bati. Eh?
"Otosan ('Father' in Japanese)! Is that it?" tanong ni Bran.
"Hai ('yes' in Japanese)! I missed you a lot, Bran! You've grown so much taller! That's good to see, my baby boy!"
Eh? Seryoso? May pinagmanahan talaga si Knox. Speaking of Knox, nakakagulat talaga yung nangyari kanina. Ibang iba siya sa Knox na kilala ko. Ah no. Di ko pa pala talaga silang lubusang kilala.
Hinanap ko si Knox pero wala na siya sa kwartong to.
"Everyone, I'll tell you something important after we had our dinner. This is no joke. I need you all." announce ni Mr. Villamayor.
"Ano kaya yun?" tanong ni Nixon.
"Who knows?" sagot naman ni Linus.
"Dad seems to be acting different today." Zephyr interrupted.
"What do you mean?" Lenin asked as he barged into the talk.
"I bet this is serious. We can't just ignore it." Lanier suggested.
"I agree." pagsang-ayon ni Niven.
Never ko pa silang nakitang nag-uusap tungkol sa isang bagay at idagdag pa dun ay hindi sila nagkukulitan. Siguro nga, talagang mahalaga ang sasabihin ni Mr. Villamayor.
"AAAAAHHHHH! OTOSAN!" sigaw ni Bran.
Wala ng malay si Mr. Villamayor at tila may dugo tumagas mula sa kanyang bibig.
"Dad!"
"Papa! Wake up!"
"Call an emergency!"
"Make it fast!"
"DAD!"
Ano na bang nangyayari? Sana maging maayos si Mr. Villamayor...
"Please don't, my children..." pigil ni Mr. Villamayor.
"But Dad," pag-aalangan ni Zephyr.
"I need to tell you something," he said while coughing heavily.
Is this the end for Mr. Villamayor? No, it can't be... Pano na lang ang mga anak niya?
"Dad, please, let us call the emergency." naiiyak na sabi ni Niven.
"Papa, we can't afford to lose you." Lenin cried.
"Please don't die, not in us, Dad. Just don't die!" sigaw ni Nixon.
"My children, I know I can no longer make it... So please, promise me that you'll be good kids from this day forward..." naghihingalong salita ni Mr. Villamayor.
"Dad, no!" iyak ni Linus.
"I can no longer make it. I... I can no longer..."
"I'm going." pagpapaalam ni Nero.
"Hey you bastard! Where the hell are you goin'? Huh?" sugod ni Lanier na galit na galit.
"So disrespectful!" galit na salita ni Niven.
"Can't you just stay even at Dad's last breath?!" sigaw ni Linus.
Pinigilan nilang lahat na umalis si Nero.
"Wait. What the fuck's with ya? Lemme out of this crap. I kn-" bwisit na salita ni Nero.
"DAAAAAD!" malakas na sigaw ni Bran dahilan para mafocus kaming lahat sa kanya at kay Mr. Villamayor,
"HAPPY HALLOWEEN!" sigaw nilang mag-ama sabay hagalpak ng tawa.
Eh? Joke lang yun lahat?
"What the fuck? I told you to release me. I knew it. I knew he's just on his stupid acts. Damn you old man." inis na sabi ni Nero.
"Dad you're not funny." bwisit na sabi ni Niven sabay punas ng luha.
"Pinag-alala mo kami, Dad." sabi ni Lanier.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. If you only see your faces, it's priceless! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" naiiyak sa tawa ni Mr. Villamayor.
Ngayon alam ko na kung san mana ang mga Villamayor brothers. No doubt.
At least, it's a relief na joke lang yun. Yun nga lang, it's a sick joke. I'm going to get sick literally. LOL.
Pinagsusuntok at pinagsisipa ng mga anak niya si Mr. Villamayor.
"You sick old mad man!"
"HAHAHA."
Kahit ganyan sila, nakakatuwa sila, isang pamilyang nagkukulitan...
"What the hell is your problem, Dad?!" inis na tanong ni Nixon.
"Baliw ka talaga, Dad." puna naman ni Zephyr.
"HAHAHAHAHA. I and Bran are good actors, aren't we? HAHAHAHA. Now you know where Niven inherited his acting skills? HAHAHA." pagtawa pa din ni Mr. Villamayor.
"Is it a joke, Dad? If it is, cut it. It's not funny." asar na sabi ni Lenin.
"Why so harsh, Lenin? HAHAHA."
Pumasok si Knox at tila kapansin pansin ang pananahimik niya. Ano kayang problema niya? I know it's not my nature to be nosy but I really wonder on why he acts differently.
"Di na kayo mabiro. HAHAHA. My bad. I admit it. Anyway, listen. My beloved sons, I hope you won't wait for that 'act' to happen in real life. Please be good to yourselves. What if wala na talaga ko? Ganyan na lang kayo? Magkakaaway? Nah. Don't do such things, my kids. I don't want you to end up drowning with your regrets one day. We're a family. We're not supposed to fight. You're not supposed to fight each other. Help each other. I'm saying this because you're getting older. I think, it's the right time for me to give you some reprimands and reminders. You're no longer kids. You're all grown up. And I don't want you to be misguided that's why I'm telling you these things. I know it's awkward but, please, please learn. If you can't learn from me, then learn from yourself. Don't wait for the time that you'll be learning from your mistakes. It may sound corny to hear me saying this loud but I love you so much, my sons. Please lead yourself to the right course. Papa loves you, kids."
Pangaral mula sa isang ama. I am touched. To hear such words is a lovely music to anybody's ear. Aw. It made me miss my Papa, too. Some words are better left unsaid, they say. But such words from a father, I think its better to shout it out like he did. Reaching out should never be suppressed at any cost.
