→ "Walk the plank, you dumb fish"
I woke up to the sound of pots and pans blaring downstairs. I don't know if someone was stealing our kitchenware, or if there was an active cult meeting going on right below me. All I know is, I had to check it out.
I jumped over Kurt in the bed, and ran all the way down the steps and around the corner to the kitchen. And to my surprise, I found something even more entraining.
It was Rosalie and Jalapeño dude, going at it at the crack of dawn. Well, she definitely missed her room by a couple of steps and a whole floor. But A+ for effort?
They didn't even notice I was there, and so I moved over to the light switch and turned it on. They jumped all of a sudden, and looked at me like deers caught in headlights. Well, caught in a heated makeup session.
"So you couldn't walk to your room? You filthy animals! Wow! Wash that counter when your done, I don't want germs." I announced to the mating animals, as they just stared in utter shock.
I walked upstairs, a little pep in my step because finally of once, Rosalie isn't the perfect. She's downstairs making out with Jalapeño dude. I might just have this somewhat perfect sister thing in the bag now. There's no way she can come back from this.
I opened up my door quietly so that I didn't wake up Kurt and shuffled back into bed. If I heard them making love down there, everyone else probably did too.
Which means, my morning just started and I'm not gonna be able to go back to sleep.
And this is proven correct when Iris comes barging into my room, and joins me in bed. She's been doing this since her date two nights ago. She won't tell me why, she just comes in and lays in the middle of the bed in between me and Kurt.
She then proceeds to roll both of us off the bed and have it all of herself. When she has a whole bed in her own room. See? Crazy.
"Don't roll me off this damn bed Iris, I'll never let you in here again." I threaten her and she stops for a moment to think.
"Your going back to Brooklyn in like two months, you can't be here forever." She exclaims as she forcefully rolls me off the bed this time. I let out a grunt as I hit the ground, and soon enough I see Kurt has joined me on the wood floor.
"Anna when are you going on that date with Pacer?" He asks, thanks little deamon. He's probably gonna run his mouth all over town that we're going on a date tonight. Great.
"It's tonight Kurt! Happy?!" I shout over to his side and he smiles to himself and just happily glides out the room to his won.
"You have a date with Pacer?! When did this happen?! I need screenshots- I need picture- I'm gonna need a downpayment on your new house!" She questioned with joy, jumping up on the bed and no doubt in the process of breaking my bed.
"It happened when we stayed overnight at Target, and it' just a date relax. Like you said, I'm only here for two months." I grinned at her when she noticed my choice of words. Of corse I was going to use that against her, she said it just a few minutes ago. She plopped down on the bed with a frown.
"They have administration offices at your college right? You know the number?" She asks me now, reaching for my phone on my dresser near the bed. She clicked on it several times, "I'll tell them you'll be transferring to a college around here."
"Hey!" I shouted at her and lunged for my phone. She leaned back and dodged my attack and started to crawl on all fours out of my room. "You don't even have my password!"
"I can take several guesses, and I'll probably get it right! You still love One Tree Hill, right?" She asks, and I can hear a small laugh coming from her room.
"NO!" I screamed and picked myself up from the floor and ran to her room. I tried to open the door, but the knob was stiff. She locked it?! "IRIS!"
"I'm kidding, but uh- you got some nice posts here on twitter, it'd be a shame if they just went away." She snickered behind the door and I started pounding on the door as hard as I could, until she opened it and I almost pounded on her face.
She hands me the phone and closes the door back in my face.
"Anna! Get down here quick! Come on!" I barely hear Rosalie yell for me, and then I'm running down the steps and to where her voice sounded. It was the living room, ugh.
I sped all the way there and had to stop myself quickly when I saw Rosalie and Pacer sitting on the couch and going through what seemed to be a family album. I haven't look good since the ending of middle school, and we stopped taking pictures before that.
"Aw, look. Anna with a wig on her head! I think that was halloween of '04. You were supposed to be cinderella!" She laughs at my old embarrassment, giving Pacer the opportunity to laugh along with her.
"Stop making fun of me, you told me no one would be cinderella that year and then we went outside and it was like a ball full of Cinderellas." I began, she had it coming for her if she thought she could embarrass me. In front of my date for tonight too!
I walked over to the couch and took a seat next to Rosalie to get a better look at my childhood. The book must have been kept somewhere clean, it wasn't dusty at all. And the pages were clean like it was looked after every day.
Rosalie flipped to the next page, all the memories coming back to me. She started laughing at all the pictures along with Pacer, up until I saw the most perfect one.
It was of me and my dad. We had gone to a nearby pumpkin patch festival thing. They had pumpkins and food and activities. Kurt wasn't born yet, and Iris was still pretty young. And Rosalie was out with Mom. It was just me and him.
I had a small pumpkin in my hands, and he had like the biggest one in the patch. He told me to hold it like it was heavy and he would hold his like it was light. And we got someone to take the picture.
After we took it, he said 'As long as I'm around, we'll come to this patch and pick the biggest pumpkin every year.'
Rosalie caught me going back into memory lane, and placed her arm around my shoulder. "I'm sorry, I know that was one of your favorite things."
"I'm sorry too." I thought and mumbled to myself, and in a glimpse of a moment I looked over to Rosalie and Pacer, and he was looking at me, like he had heard what I said.
