→ "Everybody make a scene, throw a chair, flip a table."
It was dinner night tonight. And Aidan was here making things very awkward. I don't know what's going on between those two. They weren't on speaking terms, but he was still around. And I definitely wasn't talking to him or her. So three times as awkward.
After the whole Sonia thing, which was kind of nice by the way. She came over to talk with my mom about something. But whatever it was she seemed to be in a good mood afterwards. Back on topic, I just chilled in my room. Hiding out from Eli was very much near.
And here we are, dinner night. I think we're having some kind of pasta and stuff. Why? Because mom loves to sit down with the people in her home. And not talk about how certain things are going on and how people are truly feeling. Must be the only thing we have in common.
I wasn't going to wear anything nice. I'm gonna go down there with sweatpants and a hoodie. If it makes it any better, it'll be my Hogwarts hoodie. It's somewhat formal. Bite me.
I changed into what I planned and headed downstairs. See I wasn't the only one thinking like that. Rosalie came down with a onesie on. Kurt was, being himself, and was wearing his pajamas. He didn't even take a shower, I KNOW. And Iris just.
I don't know what to say about Iris. She had her hair done, and even had some eyeliner on. but it was smudging? And she had her shirt on backwards and she had on her gym shorts! The kids in this family were on a whole other level. That was pretty clear.
I was in the kitchen, poking through the pantry when Pacer just waltzed in. Like it was his house or something or like he was invited or -
Mom.
Well, I guess the whole dressing not nice thing is coming back to bite me right in the butt. I mean I didn't need to look nice for Pacer- christ was I- never mind.
"So, Anna what's going on? Some sort of family crisis? Should I come back?" He pointed back to the door he came from. The back door, which no one in this house seems to use. I shake my head in disapproval. "What's up?"
"Nothing, just a family dinner, and everyone's kind of on edge. I don't know, something might just pop soon." I let him know, and he nodded his head and started walking closer to where I was. Why? I don't know.
He came close enough to me, and swaddled me in a hug. He placed his head on top of mine and was smoothing out my hair. But wasn't this going to fast for him? In a few weeks I'd be gone, what would he do then?
"Anna, you know I advise you not to burst in there. And if you need me, because you won't get angry with me there, I'll stay." He stated, and I actually thought about it. I could do that, but that could just backfire badly. Really badly. He could figure out what's really wrong with me and this family.
"Are you willing to see me another way? Because I have a feeling that this dinner might be brutal." I warned him and he responded with a light, 'mm hm'. I heard it from deep inside him. "You sure?"
"I'm sure pretty." He washed away all my worries with that sentence. But really all I could think about is if this thing between us sticks. What do we do then? "Call me Dr.smiles." He added.
"What is that your kink?" I asked and suddenly he got really stiffed up. Oh my g- Pacer Rhodes has kinks? Oh holy shi- I'm totally gonna kink shame him now. Wow. I pulled away from his touch and looked him in the eye. "Pacer, you are kinky!" I hit him across the shoulder as he let out a booming laugh.
"Okay, so let's go sit down." He linked his arm around mine and guided me, though my own house, to the dinning room.
As soon as we stepped foot into the room, everyone seemed to grow a little happier. Especially Rose. Maybe she was glad to see me, cause she needed me to stop her from losing it. Maybe keeping Pacer here was a bad idea.
I sat down where there was an empty seat, so that Pacer could sit next to me. But Aidan had gotten up, and the only place to sit now was at dad's seat. I remember going over in my head that if he ever sat in that seat I'd lose it. But I can't now, Pacer would think I'm crazy. It's just a seat after all.
He came back, form wherever he went, and did just that. I didn't lose it, and we all started to eat the dinner on the table. The pasta, and stuff.
Fast forward to after everyone had a plate, and something was about to hit the fan. I was moving the food around in my plate while mom was looking right at me. Like right at me. So, I decided to speak.
"So, how's your friend Sonia? and her daughter Carina?" I asked her, and if I thought the room was silent before, it was way past silent now didn't even think that could happen but it did.
"Sonia and Carina were here? Is that- what the hell Claire!" Aidan shouted at her, and continued on his mim rampage. "I thought you said they weren't- why would you bring them here?"
"Can you stop yelling at my mother?!" Rosalie shouted to him, and he looked taken back. Either because no one ever yelled at him like that to he wasn't expecting it from Rose.
"Rosalie, it's okay. Aidan, can we talk about this somewhere else?" Mom answers him and she emphasized the 'somewhere else'. She didn't want us to know something. Something else she's hiding!
"Mom, can't you just tell us?" Kurt asked her, and she looked shocked. She walked to him and placed a hand onto of his head. He looked up at her with those eyes, if Kurt gave you those eyes he was dying to know something. And he's such a good kid, I wouldn't ever keep anything from him unless it was dangerous.
"No, it's not something you can handle-" She starts to explain to him but then Iris, light speaking, 'i need to shave my legs' Iris, blows up and interrupts her.
"Mom, we hear you crying in your room. You've been doing it for months, and you won't tell us about it. And I think, if you don't want to tell us then it's about dad." Iris starts by saying this and gets up form her seat and continues. "And Aidan has some sort of vendetta against him, because of some unknown reason. But you won't tell us anything. We're your kids and he's our dad, we need to know!"
"Iris, go to your room, Kurt too." Aidan order them, and maybe you can say that' when I lost it. I was losing it already but I went off.
"No, we want to hear about what's going on with dad. And I'm sorry, Aidan but they have a right to know too. You can go though, seeing as you have no claim here." I comment, and he looks hurt. Honestly, I don't care. Aidan came around when I wasn't here. And when I was here, he seemed off. I never knew about his vendetta against my dad. But he never truly raised me, so I'm not really affected.
"Anna!" My mom screamed. At me! I wasn't the only one making comments. But she loves to scream at me, since I was dad's favorite and I was his splitting image. She's always been this way, and I guess she'll never change.
"Mom, either you tell us or I'l find out." Rosalie finally spoke out, she felt the same as me probably. Aidan didn't raise her, she was already gone before he started painting himself into the picture. And even though she really loved mom, and was her favorite, she was at heart a daddy's girl. "Stop keeping secrets from us. Tell us."
"Claire, they don't need to know, just come on, let's talk outside." Aidan persuaded her and she listened. Like he was her husband or something. Last time I checked she was still legally married to dad. So why is he suddenly the boss of her now?
She left with Aidan, and we were all standing out of shock. She took a strangers side rather than her own kids. We were her blood, while Aidan was someone she was just getting her freak on with.
Rosalie came up to me, "Go, I got the kids." She squeezed my shoulder and then lead Iris and kurt up the steps.
I turned around to a completely embarrassed Pacer. "Wanna go somewhere with me? Anywhere?"
"Anytime, Anna."
