I cleared my throat looking into the crowd of the people as I held the book in my hand. My poetry book is officially out. My thoughts were now out into the world for other people to read, dissect and judge...My fucked up, screwed up thoughts..I scanned the crowd seeing Star and Trent actually came from the Bay, Marcel came too and Fresh was standing front and center. I gave him a small smile then began to read...
All I need in this life of sin is me and some Vicodin
I promise God if you keep blessing me, I'll forever repent
Keep numbing the pain, so I can stop cutting into my beautiful skin or having dreams about sky diving into cement
I keep hearing I'm heaven sent, but if that's the case I'm being kicked out cause I keep coming back with no consent

After I finished I took a deep breath then looking up as everybody clapped. "I don't think anybody knows how much this book means to me. It's something small, but it's a start. A start to taking control of my life. Expressing myself; it's just a gift God gave me, nobody can take my ability to express my mind body and soul away. Nobody has that power over what God has blessed me with. Whether it's my words, thoughts or body. It's mine. So, thank you for coming out. I appreciate it," I said as they clapped again.
