I stood leaned up against the kitchen counter in Fresh's loft. I was waiting for him to finish getting ready, so we can leave. I held the Polaroid of Yams and I between my two fingers just staring at it. A couple of days later after getting that call and finding out, this was still hard to believe...

I still remember that day like it was yesterday. He invited me over to his condo in L.A. and I baked him cookies then we got drunk and high while watching movies. A genuine friend. One that always supported your dreams no matter how far fetch they may seem to you. When everyone else tells you don't do it, he'll tell you you can. A person who puts everybody before himself, but also a person with his own internal issues.
Everybody knew Yams had a drug issue. Whether people ignored it or took it for what it was, he did. He even went to rehab for a little while. It's just crazy to me that someone in my age group died and this time it wasn't because he was killed. At 26 he was dead.
