Chapter 18: Escaping the mind

Chooki's Pov
I kept attacking her until she got me to the ground and had her twin blades at my neck. "Any last words?" Dark Yasmin asked. "Yeah." I said and grabbed the sharp ends of the blades with my hands and kicking her away. "Im still strong." I said and got up. The blades were in my hand with the sharp ends literally scraping my hands. "You can't defeat me. I'm stronger than you." Dark Yasmin said. "There's one thing you dont have. I have friends. My family. And my best friend. I don't care if she doesn't forgive me, but, I'll do anything to protect her." I said.

"Aw, how pathetic. This whole quarell has turned into a love affair." Dark Yasmin said. I then used the safer parts of the blades to knock her away. Once she got back up, she looked at me and started laughing. And not the sweet type of one, it was a sinister one. Then her voice got dark. "You think you can defeat me, then your wrong. This is my mind and I control it. You can't defeat me." Dark Yasmin said. "No." Someone interrupted and we looked next to us to see Yasmin.

Yasmin walked next to me and I smiled. She also smiled. "This is my mind. I control it. And you are not welcomed in it. Not now, not ever." Yasmin said. "How can you, do you know what he did?" Dark Yasmin said. "And I forgive him for it. The same way he forgave me for keeping secrets and the same way we have each others back." Yasmin said. "Okay but you still can't defeat me." Dark Yasmin said. "He might not be able to but I can." Yasmin said and her own weapons appeared.

I dropped the twin blades and looked at my hands. They had big slashes across them and I knew they were gonna scar after I get out. Dark Yasmin had attacked Yasmin and they both were fighting now. Yasmin did get hurt a couple of tines but she always stood back up. Soon, she had literally destroyed Dark Yasmin. "So, how are you not dead?" Yasmin asked me. "I wanted to help you." I said. "Okay." Yasmin said and I his my slashes away. "So, how come your not dead?" I asked. "She's my dark version only the owner can destroy them." Yasmin said.

"Oh, okay." I said. "Don't even try hiding the slashes by the way, I know she hurt you." Yasmin said. "Well, I was the one to grip the shaper ends of the blades." I said. "Which was risky but I applaud you. No one in life has survived doing that." Yasmin said. "Oh that's, uh, nice." I said. "I know its not nice. Come on, let's get back." Yasmin said and she gripped my arm. I opened my eyes after a few minutes and saw that I was back at the fight scene.

Guren's Pov
Every one of us had finish facing our fears but when we regained consciousness, we saw that both Yasmin and Chooki had shadow walls around them. "What the hell?" Joshua said. Then, after a few minutes, those walls had disintegrated and Yasmin and Chooki had gotten back. "So, what did we miss?" Chooki asked. "What happened?" Samantha asked and I looked a bit properly and saw a bunch of scars all over his body. "That would have been my fault." Yasmin said, getting down from her post and coming closer. We got our weapons out. "Don't worry, Dark Yasmin is gone for good." Yasmin said.

Then Yuri looked at us. "So, you became a goody two shoe. Knew you would. Someone as weak and pathetic as you can't handle being evil. I don't know..." Yuri said but Yasmin interuppted him but throwing air shurikens at him and his gang and they all retreated. "Now, I recommend bringing him to the base because he's got a lot of scars that need patching up." Yasmin said. "Got it." Samantha said. "I'm fine." Chooki said. "Get into the freaking base." Yasmin said. "Okay." Chooki said and ran to the base.

I just sighed. "If you were ever put in a fight, I would be more sorry and scared for the person you are fighting against." I said as we all walked inside and Amanda went to get the first aid kit. "Oh, and you guys don't need to tell me anything. I know everything that had happened." Yasmin said. "Cause that ain't weird at all." Victor said and Amanda patch Chooki up. "What happened with your hands?" Samantha asked Chooki. "He got into a fight with my dark side and to get her off of him, he grabbed the sharp sides of the twin blades and kicked her off." Yasmin said, casually.

"And how are you so casual about that?" I asked. "Have you seen what I watch?" Yasmin asked. "I don't wanna know. Anyways. What changed your mind to be good again?" I asked. "Something." Yasmin said. "Can we perhaps know what that something is?" Alexia asked as Yasmin was walking outside. "One day you guys might know. But right now, I need to blow off some steam." Yasmin said and went outside. "Okay, what happened?" I asked. "I think she thinks the injuries caused are her fault." Chooki said.

Joshua just sighed. "She won't understand that not everything is her fault." Joshua said. "Well, someone needs to tell her." Samantha said. "I volunteer Chooki." Alexia said. "Are you kidding me. Why?" Chooki asked. "Your her best friend." Alexia said. "And they're her family." Chooki said, pointing to Joshua, Amanda and I. "But you know more about her. And she is quite stubborn." I said. "Okay fine. But if she heard what you said, she won't be happy." Chooki said. "And there's proof that you know more about her. Now go." Alexia said. "Fine." Chooki said and walked outside to where Yasmin was.

Cecilia's Pov
I was sitting on the couch, lazing about while Yuri went off at us about something. Georgia was also rambling on about something. I was sitting upside down and so was Chase. "Think they're ever gonna shut up?" I asked. "Maybe. But not right now." Chase said. "This is literally boring." I said. "Its getting dark and its our turn to patrol." Chase said. " I'm getting up." I said and got up. Chase and I left the base and sat outside. We had our weapons out and we were bored out of our mind.

"Why do we have to patrol this stupid base when the goodies are to much of an idiot to even think about surprise attacking us." Chase said. "Gotta agree with you there." I said. "Anyways, who's taking patrol tomorrow?" Chase asked. "Well, its supposed to be Ashley and Kai but they swapped with Toby and Lucy." I said. "And why didn't we think of that?" Chase asked. "Well, I tried to swap with someone but everyone declined." I said. "I hate doing patrol." Chase said. "Quit complaining. Its not like we are gonna be doing anything." I said.

Chase and I sat outside, bored out of our minds since there was literally nothing to do. I went inside to grab a bottle of water and went back outside. "And you couldn't grab me one?" Chase asked. "Figured you didn't want." I said. "Hey." Chase said. I then heard a noise. "Sh." I said. "Don't shush me." Chase said. "Shut up." I said as I heard the same noise again. "Why?" Chase said. Then he shut up. I saw something move and I lifted my crossbow up. "Looks like we got company." I said. "Yeah." Chase said, getting his guns out.
