I turned my back at her and started to walk away.
She was crying hard. I can't stand seeing her cry, especially when it's because of me-stupid Alyssa. I'd rather take all the pain than to see her cry. It hurts me a hundred times more to see her in pain because of me.
"Wait," I heard her say in between sobs. She walked towards me.
"Nagmamadali ka ba? I haven't answered your question yet, di'ba?" she said out of frustration.
"Sorry." I whispered.
Her eyes immediately softened. She smiled; her eyes were so chinky because of it. She laughed; the melody from it would surpass the best orchestra of the world. Her eyes twinkled despite being in tears.
What is happening? Does she really love that Ponce guy? I thought.
"Yes, I love Jerome." she said all of a sudden.
"Ok-"
"Because he's my best friend, but I am not in love with him. Never." she cut me off.
My mouth agape at the revelation. I couldn't utter a word; it was not sinking in yet. She took that as a chance to grab my nape and kiss me on my lips. Slow, passionate and full of longing.
"I love you, Alyssa Valdez. I am in love with you. You are my life. Happy anniversary, babe." she said after kissing me.
"Does this mean #TeamBabe is back?"
"Yes."
"#VRCouple is back?"
"Yes."
"We are-"
"Ayaw mo?!" now she's pissed. I was just fooling around.
We were laughing after that. Even with traces of tears in our eyes, we laughed like we never did in the past three months. Now, we're finally back. I will never ever, ever, ever let her go.
We went inside and told her parents that we're back on track and they were happy for us, like they used to three years ago. I asked them a permission to bring Mika back at my condo and spend the night with me, of course they agreed.
We were back in our bedroom. It doesn't feel empty like it used to three months ago. It wasn't the same when Mika left me but now it feels just right. It feels like home-because where Mika is, that's my home.
She wrapped her arm around me as she placed her face on my neck.
"I love you, Mika Aereen Reyes. 203%, babe."
"Where did you get that, babe? Ang corny ha!" she raised her head and laughed.
"It's from a friend of mine." I laughed with her and pecked her lips.
"I love you too, Alyssa Valdez. At kahit corny, that would be 203%, babe." she kissed me again.
Mika fell asleep first. I couldn't sleep because everything felt so surreal. Finally, my life is back and she's sleeping in my arms right now. Before deciding to join her in her sleep, I grabbed my phone and tweeted something.
