"(Y/N) WAKE UP YOU LAZY SLICE OF CUCUMBER!" Nunarae yelled in my ear. I yelped and toppled from the bed.
Red lights were flashing, and alarms were going off.
"BLOODY HELL WHAT IS HAPPENING!?" I cried, scrambling up and rushing to get on some new clothes. I still had the ones on if been training in from yesterday.
"It's an alarm! Something's wrong!" Nunarae pointed out helpfully.
"I almost mistook you for Ovra right there!" I called. Ovra was the goddess of logic.
"Too bad! Go go go! Out of the room!" Nunarae cried, and I scrambled out, racing down the halls.
I stumbled into the control room, to see all five paladins there in some very fancy armour and glowing weapons.
Allura was talking about something attacking.
"Outside, paladins! Your Lions are not needed right now!" She spoke.
"What's going on? Who's attacking!?" I almost shrilled.
She gave me a look of guilt. "Galra."
I was out of the room so fast I almost teleported.
"Hey! (Y/n)!" Keith called.
"Wait up! How are you so fast!?" Hunk cried.
"Nunarae, status report! Where are they, what are they doing, what do I need?" I had no time to worry about the others right now. Right now was time to wreck havoc on the stupid purple hyenas.
"They're currently circling the palace. Some have landed, some are being blasted out by weird cannons." Don't ask how she saw, she just did. I didn't question. "They're trying to breach. Allura has put a protective force field around the palace, giving you all time. I suggest going beast mode." She sounded less then eager.
"Alright. You know the deal?" I instinctively put a hand to my ear, pressing on the ear piece.
"Yes." She said hesitantly. "Are you sure you want to do this? You're risking getting caught again."
"I'm showing my gratitude by fighting for these guys. No matter what you say, I'm fighting." I said, sounding more determined than fearful, which I originally thought I'd be. Fearful.
"Idiot. No matter what choice you make, I'm dragged along with you." She mumbled.
"(Y/n)! Who are you talking to?" Shiro was sprinting beside me, clearly attempting to stop me.
"No time to explain." I breathed. The doors were opened, and I raced straight onto a weird white stone bridge. This thing was like, ten houses wide at least. There was a blue bubble around the palace, which was probably that force field Nunarae had mentioned.
"Nunarae! Are you ready!?" I yelled, as the alarms buzzed and I heard explosions from all around.
Before she could answer, the paladins raced past me and stood in a kind of line in front of me.
"Go back! We've got this!" Lance shouted. I could tell that he was the cocky one in the team.
"I'm ready." Nunarae announced.
I scrambled forwards and pushed past the guys.
"(Y/n)! Stop! What are you–!?" Keith cried.
I snapped my fingers, and in a bright flash, I wasn't me anymore.
(Pick a dragon and make it your favourite colour (f/c) and yeah. Btw these are not mine. Carry on my friends)
I grew four large, powerful legs, and wings sprouted from my back. My tail ended in a whip thin end, which lashed about menacingly. I felt parts of my spine push through my skin to line my neck and back. My face grew into a long snout. My teeth grew into more predatory ones, and my tongue became forked. (F/c) scales formed all along my body, catching the morning light perfectly. I could see ten times better. Every single blade of grass from the other side of the bridge.
I was a dragon.
"Holy–"
I cut Keith off with a large bellowing screech. It was a mix of both beast and human, and almost sounded as if it were harmonized. As if there were two other than one. It was eerie, and I loved it.
I spread my wings, and stood on my hind legs, breathing fire into the sky. I launched up, and immediately went barrelling into a Galra ship.
I took it down easily, and jumped to the next.
"Slash there!" Nunarae's voice echoed through my skull. I felt my spine bristle as I slashed at where the engine was.
I took off of the ship before it fell from the sky. I was able to see the paladins fighting the landed Galra below. I screamed in triumph, and dove down to help after I disposed of the other flying ships of doom.
I landed, and nimbly dodged a blaster shot, managing to get a Galra soldier off of Hunk, and snapped and one that was headed for Pidge. I saw that Shiro was pulling some rad karate moves on a bigger guy, most likely the leader, and decided to tramp over and help.
I snapped at the Galra's face. He was as tall as me, which was pretty tall, but this made it a little easier to keep him in sight.
I stood beside Shiro, in a ready stance. I snarled, and flicked my wings. I noticed Shiro look up at me with a mix of awe and confusion.
"SLASH! NOW!" Nunarae compelled me to go forwards, and I obliged. My long curved claws were deadly sharp, and silver.
I knocked the guy over, but didn't kill him. I gave him the decision to retreat, and he did. He ran (actually, limped) back to his ship. The other soldiers followed his example.
They took off, and attempted to re group, but I launched into the sky, breathing blazing hot fire, forcing them farther and farther away. They gave up, and I chased them off of the planet.
I landed, and gave a roar of triumph.
I turned to see the paladins looking at me with a mixture of confusion and awe, what Shiro had worn before.
I sauntered up to them, and lowered my head to there level. I gave them the closet thing I could to a grin.
