I slid down against my wall, the door sliding shut with a hiss. I sighed, and ran a hand through my hair.

"In all honesty, I believe that you did the right thing." Nunarae piped up. "They shouldn't have pushed you."

"Yeah, I know." I muttered, looking out the window. The stars littered the sky like leaves on the ground in autumn.  The comparison made me homesick all over again.

"So..." Nunarae said after a little bit. "What're we going to do now?"

"Not sure." I sighed, leaning my head back so it hit the wall. I stared up at the ceiling.

There were still no lights on. The light of the cosmos still glowed blue, sending  dark shadows across the walls. It was slightly cold, sending goosebumps up my arms. I would give anything for a hot drink right about now.

I wrung my hands together, letting out a soft hum. My head felt all jumbled up at the moment. I realized I had no one to talk to about this. The only girl on this ship was Allura, and, well... Let's just say that I don't really want to talk to her about personal things. We weren't close enough. If you know what I mean.

I wondered what my family was doing right now. My brother was probably training with the rest of the military, or looking for me, or possibly destroying Galra. My parents were most likely sending out signals across the galaxy, calls for assistance and help. My friends were probably tearing the whole planet apart in their search for me.

My eyes welled as I thought about this. Of course I had to flipping cry.

Before I became I sobbing mess, I heard my door slide open. I turned to see the green paladin, Pidge, standing there, looking down at me.

Pidge sat down beside me. "Sorry." They said simply.

I narrowed my eyes. "That sounded so genuine."

Pidge shrugged. "It was. Sort of. Anyway, that's not why I'm here."

"You're here to interrogate me, aren't you?" I sighed.

"No, actually. I'm here to talk."

"That's obvious."

"Ha ha." Pidge said sarcastically. "I just want to say that I get why you're so upset about that conversation from earlier."

I frowned at them. "What?"

"I don't like it when people get inside my head. Trust me, we had some difficulties with that." Pidge smiled.

"What?" I asked again. I know, I know, I was being stupid.

"Well... actually..." Pidge sighed. "I'm actually biologically a girl, but the others didn't know that at the time. I really wanted to keep it a secret." They admitted.

I sat there for a moment. "But you eventually spilled?"

"Yeah. You should've seen Lance's face." Pidge laughed.

I cracked a smile. "Oh my gods, that must've been hilarious."

"Believe me, it was."

"So... Can I ask an awkward question?"

"Shoot." Pidge said.

"How should I refer to you?" I queried. "He him, she her, them they?"

Pidge was quiet for a moment. "I guess it's up to you, but I'd prefer to keep a low profile."

"They and them, then."

"Righto." Pidge grinned. "So, I just want to say that you don't need to spill. Just... talk when you want to talk, okay?"

I nodded. "Yeah, I guess."

"Tell Pidge that I say thanks." Nunarae piped up.

"Nunarae gives you her thanks." I said.

"That's nice. I say no problem to Nunarae." They shrugged. "Alright, I'll leave to to mull over your thoughts in your... very dark room. See you later."

Pidge patted my shoulder, and stood up, whisking out of the room.
