I paced the dining area. Hunk was whipping up something in here, since the kitchen would be too dangerous during take off. Y'know, flying knives and forks and other sharp things wasn't really good for your health when they stabbed you. Crazy, right?
I know. My sense of humour was way up there.
Pidge joined us a couple minutes later, and sat down tapping away on their computer. Neither Pidge nor Hunk asked about yesterday, and to that I was grateful.
"You look nervous, (Y/n)." Pidge observed, looking up from their computer.
I quickly explained to them the dilemma.
"Oh... So you have family on Ostairia? And friends?" Hunk asked. I saw that there was something like sadness in his eyes. I realized what he was thinking.
"Yes. I do. But I can't stay there. It's too hot there. Especially for a reptile who needs water everyday to survive. Besides, Nunarae doesn't like it either." I explained, tapping my ear where the ear piece was.
Both Pidge and Hunk relaxed.
"Hey, (Y/n). I heard about Ostairia. Are you...?" Keith walked into the room and sat down in his designated seat.
"No. I need to be home." I said shortly to him, because he'll no was u gonna explain it again. "That's like basically me asking you if your moon was an okay place for you to live other than your own earth. Just no. You get me?"
"I get you." He grinned. It was nice to see this guy smile.
Shiro walked in and sat down. He opened his mouth to say something, but I cut him off.
"No. I can't stay in that planet. Need actual planet. Survival and stuff. Nunarae's comfort." I explained quickly.
"Thank you." The goddess said.
Shiro seemed to understand, and I continued my pacing. This was definitely taking longer then five minutes, but I guessed that it would be sooner than later.
Then finally, Lance walked into the room. Everyone tensed as I strode up to him. I promptly punched him in the shoulder.
"Hey! What was that for!?" Lance whined.
"One for me too, please and thank you." Nunarae muttered. I had a feeling it was less about me and more about waking her up, but I gladly took the second opportunity to punch him again. Then I punched him once more for Coran. Man, this was fun.
"That was for freaking me out and waking up the goddess of the afterlife. No worries, now. Carry on." I said, with a grin. He gave a small laugh, and the tension seemed to ease a little.
"So, I heard about that planet–"
"She's not leaving." The other four paladin's said in union.
Lance looked bewildered for a minute, but wasn't able to express his unfathomable relief because the castle began to shake. I yelped in surprise, toppling over on top of Lance.
"Falling for me?" He grinned.
I narrowed my eyes at him, and punched his shoulder again before stumbling off of him.
"What's going on!?" I yelled. "No smooth take off!?"
The other paladin's, who'd toppled from their chairs, shook their heads.
"What, and there's no place to, y'know, buckle in safely?" I frowned.
"Our rooms, but they're no fun. We prefer to be out together." Pidge called over the rumbling.
I found that adorably dorky, not gonna lie.
I pushed myself against the wall, getting a horrible headache from all the noise, and kept myself as glued to the spot as I possibly could.
"This isn't fun." Nunarae observed. I felt like punching her, too. I decided against it, as punching the goddess of the afterlife would be a pretty bad idea. Y'know, zombie revenge army and whatnot. It happened once in a legend.
Finally, the rumbling subsided to a quiet shaking, then it was smooth once more. I shakily stood up, looking at the other paladin's. Hunk looked green, and moments later, departed from the room. Pidge and Lance gave him sympathetic looks.
"Ow.." I rubbed my temples, closing my eyes. Man, I could use some of those headache herbs back at home.
"Headache?" Keith asked. I nodded painfully. He nodded. "Takes a little while to get used to."
I stood up, leaning against the wall for support. It felt like ship was shaking again, but that was probably just my legs. I think my stomach had turned inside out.
"Blergh." I stuck out my tongue, and wrinkled my nose in distaste.
I heard them all chuckle, and I shot them glares of death. Pidge just stuck their tongue out at me.
"Okay, paladin's! We're headed to Ostairia right now. If you could please come to the control room to figure out plans." Allura's voice echoed through some speakers.
Shiro helped me to the control room, along with Keith.
Edit: I have made a mistake. They apparently had special chairs in the control area apparently. You see, I started writing this a little after I finished the first season, so it's an honest mistake. Whoopsies. Hope you don't mind. I wove you guys.
