It was currently one o'clock in the morning, and I clearly couldn't sleep because I wouldn't be narrating this moment in time.
*Cough* *Cough*
I was laying in my bed, staring up at the ceiling. I wasn't tired, surprisingly. I think that my insomnia was coming back.
I could tell that Nunarae was sleeping, due to the lack of her constant muttering, which she did do, I just didn't find it important enough to mention earlier.
*Cough* *Cough*
I sighed, tossing and turning in my bed, the covers completely tangled, which I was going to have to righten later. I let out a low hum, and sat up, rubbing my eyes.
About two seconds later, alarms blared.
You know when you wake up and you feel like listening to music, so you put your earbuds in and the music is too loud, and you go to turn it down but you can barely tell the difference when you do, because your ears are so tired from sleep? This was ten million times worse.
Basically, to sum it up, I screamed and fell out of bed.
"What's going on?" Nunarae asked groggily.
"I'd like to ask the same thing." I muttered.
"PALADINS! TO THE CONTROL ROOM IMMEDIATELY!" Allura's voice echoed through some very invisible coms because I could not see a damn thing that could have a voice come out of it.
I stood up and scrambled out of the room, taking off to the control room. I really liked that place. Coran was normally there and he was cool.
I saw that the paladin's were already there, and were staring through the large dome of windows in apparent awe. I would've assumed that they were stargazing or something, but then I saw the very large purple metallic ship, which I could recognize from anywhere.
Galra.
It appeared that they hadn't seen us yet, which was surprising.
I stumbled forwards, pushing past them, and taking in every single detail. I could feel a tugging within my chest, weakly trying to pull me towards the ship. It was more controlling of my actions and emotions than me physically.
"(Y/n) what–" Lance began, but I heard him yelp in pain. I sensed that Pidge had stomped on his foot. I would have to thank them later.
Instantly, my vision wasn't my own. I fell back in surprise, but it didn't go away. I saw things entirely different then from what I remembered.
First, I was fighting the robotic Galra soldiers, then I was pulling off some epic ninja moves and unlocking prisoner doors, then I had one of those Galra daggers and was murdering more soldiers. All the while I felt like my soul was in the wrong place.
Like I was seeing through someone else's eyes.
The more I concentrated, the more I saw all the things that weren't physically me. Like that scar on my right hand, or the colour of hair, or how I moved.
I knew who I was seeing through immediately.
And I understood that tugging feeling almost as quickly.
It was a family thing. The tugging was the connection of blood
Suddenly, the vision flushed away, and I was back on the ship. Pidge hovered over me worriedly, but I sat up. They quickly got out of my way.
"Quiznak." I hissed, and stood up.
"What's the plan?" Keith asked. I noticed that they were all in their armour already.
"Get the prisoners out and destroy the ship." Allura said. Since when did she become so destructive?
"I like that plan." Lance announced.
"(Y/n)'s coming with me." Pidge said, glancing at me. I nodded.
"Wait, what? We've seen what she could do to a fleet, but an entire ship? Remember our first time fighting Galra?" Shiro said doubtfully.
"She's fought them for longer than any of us." Pidge pointed out.
"Did you see how hurt she was?" Lance asked. "She was out for two days, and was in shock for two others. She's still in shock for all we know."
I folded my arms impatiently, the tugging becoming more persistent. It was like a calling now.
"She isn't. You see how she's reacting." Pidge said with a huff.
"Look, we can't waste any time. (Y/n), go suit up. You'll be joining Pidge." Shiro said sternly. I nodded, and brushed past them.
"Can you just do that armour thing like you did before on Ostairia?" Pidge asked, following after me.
As an answer, the armour shimmered right on to me. Pidge gave me a smug grin.
"Thanks." I breathed. "Look, my brother's on that ship, and possibly more of my family. Maybe the entire population. This is going to be tough."
"I'll tell the others when we're in our lions." Pidge informed me. "And how do you know that your brother's in there?"
"He's calling to me." I said shortly.
"Like through your ear piece?"
"No. Like, mentally. It's like a tugging feeling." I explained.
"Oh."
"Yeah." I muttered. "It's complicated."
