The wind whistled through my ears as I flew. My wings beat down on the air, keeping me up. My tail lashed, occasionally throwing me off balance.
"You might've overreacted..." Nunarae ventured, voicing my thoughts.
I snarled.
"I'm just saying!" She defended herself.
If I could glare at her, I would.
"Okay, okay, I understand–"
"(Y/N)!? (Y/N), DO YOU COPY!?" Lance's voice yelled in my ear. I screeched at how suddenly it came, and almost toppled out of the sky.
"Lance, I'm sure she can." Hunk interjected. "Um... can she?"
"She can. Just lay off." Nunarae said angrily.
"We can't! It's our job to protect the galaxy and everyone in it. Including her." Shiro said.
I finally caught my balance, and hissed in anger as I scanned the ground down below.
"Was that (Y/n)?" Keith asked.
"Who do you think it was, red?" Nunarae snapped.
I grew increasingly frustrated, as I couldn't argue with the Paladins themselves, making the goddess do it for me. I belched flames in my rage.
"It's Keith." Keith said back.
"Alright, Red. Whatever you say." Nunarae hissed. I guess that she was going to refer to them as their colours from now on.
"Where are you two?" Shiro asked.
"Where do you think we are?" Nunarae muttered.
"North." All of the Paladins said together.
I snorted, shaking out my wings. I rose slightly to a better air current, and sped along.
"Righto." The goddess praised.
I wrinkled my nose. It was cold up here, I noticed. Not below freezing, just cold enough to make my spine rattle.
After a few minutes, I heard something suspiciously metallic sounding behind me. I twisted my head back to see the red lion.
"I've got her." Keith's voice came from my ear.
My eyes widened, but it was too late. The lions mouth opened, and ate me.
I screeched as I tumbled inside, turning back into a human so I didn't destroy anything. I was still wearing my armour, and I saw that my bayard was clipped to my side.
"DAMN YOU, KEITH!" I yelled.
"Take it easy." He said.
I stood up, rubbing my arm, as I'd just been eaten by a large metallic lion. You don't get to experience that everyday, and I'm going to say that you wouldn't be lucky if you did.
I huffed in annoyance, and looked around. I saw Keith sitting in a chair in front of several controls, but I decided to keep away.
"I can take care of myself, thanks." I snapped.
"Sorry, beautiful, but we just found you half dead a couple days ago. You wouldn't be alive because of us." Lance said.
I suppose that he did have a point, but I was too upset to care.
"I'm not half dead anymore, so you don't need to watch me like I'm some two year old." I exclaimed, stomping my foot.
"You're really acting like it..." Keith mumbled.
"Shut it." Nunarae and I said in union.
"Calm down." Shiro ordered. I let out a yell of frustration. That dumb tone of voice was angering the hell out of me.
"How am I supposed to calm down with you all chasing me!? Let me do stuff on my own! I was a warrior from a planet known for fighting, for gods sake!" I threw up my hands in exasperation, and I saw Keith glance back at me. I glared at him.
"(Y/n), we understand, but you can't rush in head first into things. Especially with the Galra. You need time to plan out attacks." Shiro explained calmly.
"Yeah, Keith." Lance said.
"Let's not point fingers right now." Hunk said, entering the conversation.
"I don't care! My friends are in there and I am not going to have them murdered in the stupid fighting ring." I shouted.
I hoped that they knew I was mad.
"We're are going down there, (Y/n). You just need backup." Pidge pointed out. Like that was supposed to help.
"Guys," I heard Hunk say. I turned to Keith's control area, and saw the yellow paladin's face flicker onto the screen.
"I've found the base."
I felt like kicking something.
